Chef Philip Li has achieved a lot in his 37 years a chef. He has been with UFS for 26 years, working his way up to become Executive Chef for UFS China today. He leads a team of 80 chefs who are spread across the country and work together to support the rapid development of our UFS China business. Chef Philip’s job is hugely varied, taking in everything from staff training and development to menu planning and innovation to ensure the range of dishes the team continuously develops are always on trend with market demands. He’s also involved in broader culinary community activities, such as food festivals, competitions and educational programmes, becoming an influencer and thought leader in the industry. Despite all his achievements in the culinary world to date, he says one of the greatest things about being a chef is the ability to transform fresh ingredients into mouth-watering dishes that provide an incredible taste experience and truly delight people. Love for the notorious Russian Salad is so strong it even got its own international awareness day – today! Mayonnaise is the key ingredient that brings the dish altogether. It is especially popular in Spain where it is one of the top tapas on every menu. The country recently crowned the latest winner of the annual National Russian Salad Championship, which is held during the highly regarded San Sebastian Gastronomika expo. The 2024 winner, Chef Alen Tarrio of Pampin Bar, uses Hellmann’s Original mayonnaise in his delicious recipe. In fact, that makes it 3 in a row for Hellmann’s. Matty Matheson has built a very dynamic career in the culinary world as a chef, restauranteur, New York Times best-selling author and star of the TV hit series "The Bear".
