  • Aker BP is proud sponsor of the Norwegian Volleyball Federation and their investment in paravolley. Two years into the agreement, the sponsorship has contributed to the establishment of national teams for women and men in sitting volleyball, national team coaches are in place, recruitment is increasing, and so is the level of the teams. Sitting volleyball is one of the world's largest parasports. From 20 to 25 May this year, a European Championship in sitting volleyball will be held in Stavanger, with Aker BP as the general sponsor. As part of the initiative, Aker BP also sponsors the annual tournament Aker BP SitCup in Stavanger. Especially great this year, was that two teams from Aker BP participated in the tournament. Team Aker BP Yggdrasil even won a medal. 💪🏻🥉 🥇Norway national team men 🥈KFUM Stavanger 🥉Yggdrasil 📷Trine Nessler Wichmann Norges Volleyballforbund KFUM STAVANGER VOLLEYBALL ParaVolley Europe

  • Hugin A jacket is on a roll! Since the new year the team at the Aker Solutions yard in Verdal has safely completed the third and fourth roll-up of the legs of the 22.000 tonnes jacket. The Hugin A jacket is one of the largest and the most complex ever built at the yard. It will be installed in the Yggdrasil area later this year. Aker Solutions in Verdal is currently delivering a major portfolio of Aker BP projects. Approximately 700 people are daily involved in the work at the yard. Every year, Aker Solutions in Verdal hire between 30 and 40 apprentices, and they are also contributing in the projects.  #alliancesworksmarter #yggdrasil #HuginA

  • On February 1st, Aker BP took over the operatorship of the Oda field from Sval Energi. Oda is located 14 kilometres east of Ula. The development concept is a subsea template with two production wells and one injection well tied to Ula. Production from Oda started in 2019. “This is a good example of the excellent cooperation between the license partners in the Ula area: We have a common goal of finding solutions that maximize value creation both in the operational and decommissioning phases,” says Talar Arif, Director of the Ula area. • At Aker BP, we're driving innovation within oil and gas exploration with cutting-edge PS seismic technology. Our advancements are enhancing subsurface clarity and optimizing field development, shaping the future of energy exploration. Why PS seismic matters? PS seismic complements conventional PP seismic by distinguishing rock and fluid types, pinpointing resource-rich zones, and imaging under challenging conditions. This clarity leads to smarter well planning and efficient resource recovery. Read more about our pioneering advances in seismic technology on our website: https://lnkd.in/d3URHytE From the left: Ross Milne, Ole Edvard Aaker and Ørjan Pedersen, who are all important instigators for Aker BP's seismic innovations. #seismic #akerbp #exploration #oneteam #tech

  • Our very own CEO, Karl Johnny Hersvik, was awarded the NPF award 2024. The NPF Award is awarded annually to a candidate who has distinguished themselves by bringing important issues for the industry on the agenda. The jury’s justification says: The 2024 award is given to Karl Johnny Hersvik for his role as a company developer, who over many years has built Aker BP to be a worthy challenger and competitor to Equinor on the Norwegian continental shelf, both through acquisitions (Marathon Oil, Premier Oil, Svenska Petroleum, BP-Norway, and Lundin) and through organic growth. As the driving force in Aker BP, he has contributed to the company investing over NOK 200 billion on the Norwegian continental shelf in the years after the pandemic and towards 2028. He has been at the forefront of alliance development, technology development, and digitalization to streamline the industry and strengthen competitiveness on the Norwegian continental shelf. He participates actively and with broad expertise in the public debate. Kalle is fearless and clear, and has shown the courage to invest heavily in oil and gas in both good and bad times, thereby ensuring solid employment and industrial development in several places in the country. We are very proud of our CEO 🎉 Norsk Petroleumsforening / Norwegian Petroleum Society #proud #CEO #oneteam #keepgrowing
