I had the privilege of visiting Brudeli Green Mobility in Norway today, and I must say, I am beyond impressed by what I saw. 🚛⚡ Their #Powerhybrid™ system is a game-changing patented hybrid solution for heavy-duty trucks, offering up to 80% electric drive with seamless integration into existing diesel engines. Then I am safely back from Europe's largest truck fair - IAA TRANSPORTATION. What are the impressions? Well, everyone talks about electric trucks in their well-prepared presentations. But in the 'backroom,' the tone is different. There, the same people are honest that the sales are completely negligible compared to conventional trucks. The reason for this is complex, but it largely revolves around the fact that an electric truck with today's battery solutions is much more expensive to purchase and much heavier than conventional trucks. Therefore, this is partly about the financial model and partly about the truck's load capacity. This will definitely change over time, but it will take a couple of decades. At least. Because even if the weight and price were to go down, it also takes time to build large truck fleets where everything from rest times, refueling, service, and driving routes will look different than with the old technology. And if this is to be scaled up production-wise, from an environmental perspective, there are several breakthroughs that the materials technology around batteries must solve on an industrial level. This is also not done overnight. Personally, I am even more confident that we at Brudeli Green Mobility are well positioned to deliver solutions that contribute to a SIGNIFICANT reduction in CO2 emissions from heavy traffic in the perhaps twenty years it will take for electric trucks to develop to take over. With plug-in hybrid trucks, we can deliver significant emissions reduction in a way that is much easier for fleet owners to get started with. #hybridnow #hybridalliance #pluginhybrid #trucks
