  • Our vessel post series continues: Havfram is currently building two advanced, next-generation Wind Turbine Installation Vessels (WTIVs). “Norse Wind” and “Norse Energi” will both be delivered in 2025. Each vessel will have superior cargo carrying capacity and will be equipped with several impactful energy efficiency features. 🔎 💡 In this post, let's have a closer look at some of our vessels' green features: #️⃣Havfram vessels have Hybrid-Power, utilizing the efficient, variable speed, common rail engines as a primary energy source and the high-capacity batteries which enable advanced energy efficiency features. 👇 #️⃣ When in port, Havfram vessels can operate entirely from shore-power. This allows clean, emission-free vessel operations. #️⃣ The MAN Energy Solutions diesel engines are compatible with biofuel and can be converted to run on alternative fuels in the future. #️⃣ The Energy Storage System (ESS) batteries by Corvus Energy provide spinning reserve, giving instant back-up power for critical activities. This allows less engines to be run, reducing fuel consumption and emissions. #️⃣ Peak shaving is the process of smoothing out the power demand during dynamic operating conditions. This allows for less engines to be run and the active engines to operate at their peak efficiency. #️⃣ Our vessels’ engines and exhaust systems are fully compliant with the IMO’s strict TIER III emissions regulations. The international standards are designed to improve air quality and protect public health by reducing emissions from vessels. Havfram’s state-of-the-art WTIVs are designed to achieve an important goal: Significant reduction of CO2 emissions for all operations, contributing to an abated carbon footprint of the offshore wind industry. 📸 Image: Havfram’s WTIVs at the docks of CIMC Raffles shipyard. #Havfram #NetZeroGoal #OffshoreWindsGreenestWTIVs

  • Havfram is celebrating: Today, our first Wind Turbine Installation vessel, Norse Wind, was successfully launched into the water. Out of all the milestones we have been able to mark so far, this is literally the most moving one. 🎊   Witnessing the lady majestically launch to sea, we marked the event together with our shipbuilding partner Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore Ltd. with a solemn launching ceremony at the shipyard — of course not without a couple of small tears of joy from the Havfram team. After all, Norse Wind is our very first vessel!   Havfram CEO Ingrid Due-Gundersen reminded the audience in her speech, that there is especially one essence for the success of Havfram's vessels: partnership! 🤝   We are humbled and proud to be able to work with the fantastic team at Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore Ltd. The collaboration between the Management of the yard, your strong construction team, and our Havfram supervision team is outstanding and goes beyond the construction of the vessels, it is indeed a partnership built on trust and mutual respect.   From the first steel cut to this very day — we are especially satisfied that safety has been the utmost priority of this partnership and has led to a smooth and safe building process.   👉 Testing phase next: We are not slowing down now and are already looking forward to all the further steps to come until we can finally take over Norse Wind upon her delivery!   #Havfram #CIMCRaffles #OffshoreWindsGreenestWTIVs #cleanenergy
