Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from all of us at Maritime Robotics AS! 🎄 This time of year, we love getting into the holiday spirit at the office. We gathered for a cozy Christmas lunch, surrounded by seasonal decorations and "ugly" sweaters. The day included a fun workshop and to top it all off, a surprise visit from a "Julenissen" who brought us a piñata full of chocolates. We had a lot of fun! #MaritimeRobotics #MRfamily #ColleagueBonding #InnovateEnableDeliver #EnablingOceanSpaceAutonomy

Is it possible to reduce emissions without compromising quality? Our fully electric #OtterUSV now features hulls made from recycled MDPE, thanks to our partnership with Ovun AS. The recycled material—sourced from Nordic Plastic Recycling—meets the same high standards as virgin plastics, offering durability, performance, and quality without compromise. 🌍 ♻️ By using recycled materials, we’ve achieved a 75% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to virgin plastic materials, reduced waste, and contributed to a circular economy. 🌊 This is another example of how innovative technology and sustainable solutions can go hand in hand! We'd like to thank the Research Council of Norway’s (Norges forskningsråd) for awarding us 4th place among 80 nominees in their prestigious innovation prize. This recognition reflects our dedication to innovation in autonomous maritime operations, both for civil and military use. Research is the foundation of innovation– it fuels progress, sparks collaboration, and leads to solutions that make a difference. Being recognized for our work in this way reinforces how important research is to our mission of making maritime operations safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. A huge congratulations to the winners, Zander Venter from NINA - Norsk institutt for naturforskning, and the journalist team at Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK). We also want to acknowledge the other finalists: 1X, ABEL and ECOnnect Energy. It’s inspiring to stand alongside other innovative companies in Norway’s tech community! Finally, this achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of our hard-working team, collaborators and supporters. Thank you! We are excited about the future ahead.✨ Read the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/d8hWxDPY

🏴 Last week we attended the Nortek Navigation Day in Aberdeen, UK! During the event, Athavan Mahendran presented our Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs) as a platform for integrating Nortek's advanced acoustic sensors. He highlighted the use of their Vessel-Mounted Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (VM ADCPs) which can accurately measure currents over a large area in just minutes, allowing the collection of multiple current profiles at different points along the sailed track. 📍The VM ADCP’s ability to perform bottom tracking allows it to function similarly to a Doppler Velocity Log (DVL), enhancing navigation accuracy for autonomous operations. 📊 Compared to traditional stationary ADCPs, vessel-mounted surveys require significantly less time to run and are a more cost-effective solution for collecting high-quality oceanographic data. 🌊 This technology is relevant across various fields, including oceanographic surveys, hydrographic mapping, and environmental monitoring. Thank you for attending and for all the expertise shared by Exail - Maritime & Industry, RS Aqua Ltd, ecoSUB Robotics, Smarter Subsea Handling, and National Subsea Centre. 💻 Learn more about our solutions: https://lnkd.in/d_GMM8ES 🔍 Learn more about the technology behind VM ADCPs: https://lnkd.in/dHqykSd3
