Om oss
Founded as a spin-off from the Bergen fMRI group in 2001 (University of Bergen), NordicNeuroLab develop and manufacture cutting edge tools that define the field of functional MR imaging (fMRI). Over 2000 installations in more than 70 countries, collaborations with leading institutions world-wide and partnering with main MR vendors, we are a global company. Our head office is in Bergen, Norway. For the US market our main office is located in Milwaukee, WI and we have local presence with sales and application specialists in California, Arizona, Texas, Massachusetts and Florida. In Seoul, South Korea, we have a team that is handling our operations in South Korea, Japan and China. From state of the art post-processing and visualization software for BOLD fMRI, Diffusion/DTI, and Perfusion/DCE imaging to fMRI hardware for audio and visual stimulation, eye tracking, and patient response collection, NNL products are used around the world by researchers and clinicians alike. Ultimately, we are dedicated to take the most advanced neuro-imaging tools to market while making functional MRI programs easy to implement. We truly believe that fMRI will play an ever more important role in improving diagnostics and treatment outcome for patients with neuro related conditions. The brain is the human organ that we know the least about and fMRI will continue to help us gain a better understanding for how this unique organ works. *Vision* All patients benefit from complete imaging information for optimized treatment. *Company Mission* NordicNeuroLab will apply world-leading competence and experience to provide professional solutions for functional imaging, enabling improved patient care and clinical efficiency. *Quality Policy* We are committed to provide the highest possible quality on our products and services worldwide. This is achieved through customer focus, continuous improvement and maintaining an effective QMS that complies with regulatory requirements.

Reducing Anesthesia in Pediatric MRI: A Success Story Back in 2007, Boston Children's Hospital set out to reduce the use of sedation and anesthesia in pediatric imaging. Their goal? To minimize anesthesia dependency, shorten wait times, enhance communication, and improve the overall experience for patients and families. The results were remarkable—a 73% reduction in anesthesia use for MRI patients (Bilyj, 2020). This was achieved by introducing patient entertainment, optimizing scan sequences, enhancing pre-visit communication, and improving education for families. A true win-win for everyone involved! We enjoyed listening to Martin Tik in his recent webinar, Combined TMS and fMRI Approaches in Psychiatric Research. The session focused on how fMRI and TMS can work hand in hand to improve treatments for depression. Neuroimaging can support TMS in depression treatment at different stages: before TMS for defining individualized targets, after TMS for evaluating target responses, and even during TMS (interleaved TMS/fMRI) for investigating target engagement. Martin Tik also discusses the technical aspects and how to overcome the challenges of conducting concurrent TMS and fMRI. You can access the webinar at the link below. https://lnkd.in/eCpBSP4A

We are excited to continue our fMRI application training in 2025! In January, we conducted an fMRI application training at Wojewódzki Szpital Specjalistyczny nr 5 im. św. Barbary w Sosnowcu, covering both the theoretical aspects and clinical applications of fMRI. The training also included hands-on sessions using NNL equipment for fMRI data acquisition. We are delighted to see the growing adoption of fMRI for presurgical planning across Europe. Thank you for choosing NordicNeuroLab as your fMRI partner!

We are delighted to welcome our newest staff member and first NNL PhD student, Fredrik Brekke. Fredrik has a bachelor’s degree in general psychology and a master’s degree in behavioural neuroscience from the University of Bergen. He brings experience in paradigm design, fMRI data processing and also fNIRS. We look forward to seeing the outcomes of his PhD project on audio-visual fMRI in collaboration with Prof. Karsten Specht at the UiB Faculty of Psychology! #NNL #Welcome
