What a year! 2024 stood out as a year full of new (and old) partnerships, overcoming challenges, accelerating, and paving the way for the future. Some of our highlights include: ✅ Deepening our partnerships, e.g. with Paul Wurth S.A., Norwegian, Cargolux Airlines, Carbon Centric, STX Group, Fortum or Sweco, to build a robust value chain for e-Fuel production. ✅ Expanding into Finland, securing sites in Rauma and Imatra, and were impressed by the warm welcome and openness we encountered. Special thanks to the team of Rauman Satama - Port of Rauma and Imatran kaupunki! ✅ Welcoming new colleagues and expanded our team. ✅ Participating in many events and initiatives driving important conversations about energy transition and climate action. We couldn't have done it without the dedication of our incredible team and the trust of our partners and stakeholders. Thank you for joining us on this journey. Here's to a happy and peaceful holiday season and a great start to a transformative 2025! 🌍✈️

Getting ready for the future by securing a greenfield site in Imatra, Finland! We have secured a 19.7-hectare greenfield site in Imatra, Finland, marking a significant step in our journey to scale renewable fuel production. With the capacity to support an 80,000-ton e-Fuel plant and room for further expansion, this site aligns perfectly with our long-term strategy. Located in southeastern Finland, Imatra offers well-established infrastructures, excellent transport connections, and the potential for collaboration with local industries. As our CCO Lars Bjørn Larsen stated: “The site in Imatra demonstrates our commitment to building a robust pipeline for future growth. While development here will take time, the site's huge potential makes it a promising addition to our portfolio. We are excited to begin preparatory work next year and look forward to developing this site for future e-Fuel production.” Big thank you goes to Mayor Matias Hilden and the team from the Imatran kaupunki for the great collaboration. We are looking forward to continuing the work with you! ➡️ Find the link for the full press release in the comments below. #SustainableAviation #EnergyTransition #RenewableFuels

While aviation has still a long way to go, some airlines are further ahead than others. We are proud to call Norwegian, one of the leading top three airlines in the world for #SAF commitment🥉, our partner! We look forward to continuing the journey with you. Thanks to T&E for this great initiative and the SAF Observatory - this shows clearly shows the need for action!
NEW: Only 10 airlines have serious plans to transition to green fuels, while oil companies are not investing nearly enough in the transition to green kerosene. Our SAF Observatory looks at SAF purchases and agreements from 77 airlines across the globe... and the results don’t look good. In the ranking, half of the airlines score zero for their lack of uptake of sustainable aviation fuels. While 10 airlines are making some progress, the remaining 67 are either buying too little SAF, the wrong kind of SAF, or are not considering SAFs at all in their decarbonisation plans. Not all SAFs are equally sustainable. E-kerosene made from renewable electricity is the only type of SAF that can be sustainably scaled up to meet the growing energy demands of the aviation sector. Meanwhile, SAFs made from food or feed crops like corn are not sustainable at all. But e-kerosene makes up less than 10% of airlines’ SAF agreements. Unsustainable crop-based biofuels account for more than 30%. The nearly non-existent effort from airlines and fuel producers when it comes to SAF raises serious questions about their ability to address their climate impact as aviation demand soars. Explore the SAF Observatory at the link in our comments.

Where does the #eFuel industry stand in Europe? What does it need to be successful? 🤔 Today, our CEO Karl presented the state of the industry and our project pipeline at the European e-Fuels Conference organized by Active Communications International (ACI Europe). While the quotas for #eSAF are set, building the industry requires know-how and smart decision-making. Factors such as energy availability and cost, but also access to the right sites and partnerships to develop projects at industrial scale are key success factors. This is why we are so focused on building a strong value chain and partnership network around our projects and continue to expand our project pipeline across the Nordics. However, important decisions and investments need to be made today, as the recently published Project SkyPower report confirms. Only then will we be able to build a strong e-Fuel industry in Europe and meet our climate goals. 💪

Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming Ingvild Kilen Rørholt, Martine Mørk and Munir Jaber from Miljøstiftelsen ZERO to Mosjøen, where we plan to produce #SAF to realise fossil free aviation.✈️ Kristoffer Gustavsen from Norwegian also joined us. Mosjøen is an ideal location for production of #SAF due to the surplus of #renewablepower, as explained by Frode Valla at Helgeland Kraft AS. Kjell Arne Bekkevold from #ØyfjelletWind gave us insights into how one of Northern Europe’s largest individual wind farms came to be, and how they contribute with securing work places in the local community. Espen Isaksen from Mosjøen og Omegn Næringsselskap KF provided insights into how important new industrial projects such as ours and Gen2 Energy are for a local northern Norwegian community, and the importance of new work places to turn the demographic challenges around. 🤔 Kurt Jessen Johansson presented the importance of the railway for the transportation of goods, and that they already have managed to reduce the emissions on the Nordlandsbanen with 20,000t in the project #AceGreen. Quite impressive! 🚂 Finally, we visited our site in Mosjøen where VEFSN KOMMUNE is preparing the land for production of SAF and green hydrogen. We hope you enjoyed the stay, and look forward to welcoming you again 😊 Also, a shout out too all of you that contributed with presentations and insights about everything that is happening in Mosjøen 🤝

The race is on for #eSAF 🚀 #ReFuelEU targets are on the horizon, and to meet regulatory requirements, Europe's first major e-SAF initiatives must reach final investment decision within the next two years. This is necessary not only to ensure that aviation's 2050 carbon reduction targets are met - scaling up e-SAF won't just reduce emissions. It's also an opportunity to create jobs, foster technological breakthroughs and generate climate benefits in other sectors - all while positioning Europe as a global leader. We are excited to be part of Project SkyPower. This new initiative brings together leading companies and experts from the European aviation and energy sectors to accelerate the development of e-SAF. The project's recent report highlights the key actions needed to overcome critical barriers and scale up e-SAF production in line with climate goals. The report shows clearly - now is the time to act. So join us in making the energy transition in the sky a reality! Read the full report here to learn more: https://lnkd.in/eubNRKiT
