Working our way into Sweden! 🙌 Together with Prime Capital AG and supported by RES, we are developing Project Alby, an industrial-scale #eFuel plant in the municipality of Ånge in northern Sweden. With a planned annual production of at least 80,000 tons of e-Fuels incl. sustainable aviation fuel (#SAF), this project will play a key role in reducing emissions from the #aviation sector. And we start this important collaboration with everyone in the same room. Our teams are making sure we hit the ground running by agreeing on next steps and division of labor. Together, we are building a strong foundation to combine project development experience, e-Fuel expertise, investment strength and renewable energy know-how to make fossil-free aviation possible. We look forward to working together and are already excited to deliver the first liters of fuel to our partner #airlines! ⬇️ Find the full press release in the comments below!

Starting the year right - setting priorities, planning for growth, and enjoying the ride ⛷️ Last week, we had few great days in Norefjell with the team kicking off the year to align strategy, priorities, and create a shared mindset. After the announcements of the past weeks, it was the right time to get together and focus on what’s ahead. One of the greatest assets we have as a company is the way we listen—to individual and shared challenges, to the opportunities we see, and to the feedback that helps us grow. Open discussion and honest input are inherent part of our culture, and last week was no exception. And of course, we also made time to simply enjoy being a team. As we continue to grow across countries and locations, making space for real connections matters. And let’s be honest—how lucky are we that we actually 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 to spend three days together? Onwards and upwards we go! 🛫

Podcast-time! 🎙️ Last week, we met at Norwegian's hangar to announce our partnership with Boeing. Among our guests was Sustainability Transitions Scientist Julius Wesche (PhD) 🌏 who invited not only our CEO Karl Hauptmeier but also Anders Fagernæs (VP Sustainability at Norwegian) and Steven Gillard (Director Europe & MENA Sustainability at Boeing) to join him on his podcast. In the latest episode of NTNU Energy Transition Podcast, the four discuss how and if aviation can really go green. And if so, what is the role Norway can play in the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (#SAF). So if you have roughly an hour, take a listen and learn more about the main approaches to defossilize aviation, the challenges in doing so and about the role our partnerships play in it. ➡️ Link in the comments below 👇

Norsk e-Fuel la ut dette på nytt
The Norwegian Minister of Energy Terje Aasland was on the national program "Debatten" yesterday and discussed the topic of implementing the Renewable Energy Directive (RED/Fornybardirektivet) into Norwegian legislation. Part of the argumentation as to why RED must be implemented relates to the following: ✅️ Protect existing and facilitate the establishment of new industrial work places ✅️ Ensure that climate solutions produced in Norway, such as e-Fuels, can actually be counted ✅️ Norway must ensure that Norwegian industry plays by the same rules as the rest of Europe, to avoid competitive disadvantages This is the first time that #eFuels have been discussed as a key reason for implementing RED, not to mention recognized as an important part of the energy transition. And for us at Norsk e-Fuel, the implementation of RED is crucial to ensure that our production in Norway is in line with the requirements in the rest of Europe ➡️ we can then play by the same rules as other European e-Fuel producers. And guess what? Production of e-Fuels in Norway will not only contribute to the alignment with RED and climate goals. It also contributes to several other important aspects as well, in addition to creating valuable work places: ✅️ Energy security - reducing the need for imports of both conventional and sustainable aviation fuel (#SAF) by establishing of national production ✅️ Income from the export of a valuable and highly sought after product ✅️ Attracting international investments to Norway and funneled into Norwegian companies like ours ✅️ Reduction of emissions in a sector where there are no other viable solutions available today, namely aviation So a big 👏 to Terje Aasland for recognizing the advantages a Norwegian e-Fuel industry can bring to Norway and putting them on the national agenda! We are partnering with Boeing to advance the e-Fuel industry in the Nordics! 🎉 We're excited to welcome Boeing to our team to accelerate the production of sustainable aviation fuel (#SAF)! This strategic partnership not only supports European climate ambitions, but also helps make #eSAF more accessible and affordable globally, in line with the commercial aviation industry's 2050 net-zero goals. Our collaboration will accelerate the development of our project pipeline and one of Europe's first industrial-scale power-to-liquids plants. A big thank you to everyone who joined us at Oslo Airport for today's signing ceremony, and special thanks to the Norwegian team for facilitating the launch and hosting us in such a spectacular venue! A Milestone for Aviation: F-35 Fueled by 40% SAF 🛫 Yesterday, we had an exclusive invitation to witness something very special. For the first time ever, an F-35 fighter jet was successfully fueled by 40% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (#SAF). This breakthrough demonstrated by the Forsvaret - Norwegian Armed Forces shows how innovation in aviation can address two of the defining challenges of our time: energy security and climate change. The connection between environmental responsibility and preparedness is becoming increasingly clear. SAF, including #eFuels, not only offers a powerful solution to reduce emissions in aviation, but it also enhances resilience and energy independence for both civil and defense sectors. Our message was clear: Today, we face complex global challenges, including geopolitical tensions and the urgent need to combat climate change. While conflicts may eventually end, the existential threats posed by climate change demand enduring solutions. Bio- and #eFuels will have to play an important part in the equation on the way towards a more secure, sustainable future. Let’s continue driving forward innovation and collaboration to address these challenges together. 🤝

What a year! 2024 stood out as a year full of new (and old) partnerships, overcoming challenges, accelerating, and paving the way for the future. Some of our highlights include: ✅ Deepening our partnerships, e.g. with Paul Wurth S.A., Norwegian, Cargolux Airlines, Carbon Centric, STX Group, Fortum or Sweco, to build a robust value chain for e-Fuel production. ✅ Expanding into Finland, securing sites in Rauma and Imatra, and were impressed by the warm welcome and openness we encountered. Special thanks to the team of Rauman Satama - Port of Rauma and Imatran kaupunki! ✅ Welcoming new colleagues and expanded our team. ✅ Participating in many events and initiatives driving important conversations about energy transition and climate action. We couldn't have done it without the dedication of our incredible team and the trust of our partners and stakeholders. Thank you for joining us on this journey. Here's to a happy and peaceful holiday season and a great start to a transformative 2025! 🌍✈️
