🗺️ A New Year filled with Purpose and New Horizons. As we step into 2025, we are incredibly excited to see the preparations for our first #Picterus outreach project taking shape. This marks the beginning of a series of projects aimed at providing essential neonatal jaundice screening and management to areas of the world with limited healthcare access. 🌱 To bring this project to life, we’ve partnered with the incredible team at #TanzaniaBetterHealth (TBH). Over the past weeks, we have had the privilege of working alongside Dr. Leonard J. Malasa, MD, TBH founder and CEO, and Dr. Beata Mushema MD, MSc, TBH Director of Programmes and Operations, to build the foundations of the outreach program and find the best way to help local communities and families. Together, we’re committed to making sure newborns have the best start in life. Early neonatal jaundice screening and access to follow-up treatment means jaundice can be managed without long-lasting health consequences. Unfortunately, this is not always the case, especially in low-resource settings where access to healthcare facilities, medical equipment and follow-up treatment are limited. For newborns in these areas, jaundice can present dire health consequences.
