And the winner is… 🥁 In this year’s E24.no #LederTalentene competition, our very own Lars Grimstad won Årets Teknologihode, an award to showcase the tech talent of the year! This competition has been giving out awards in different sectors for the last 16 years, as a way to recognize Norwegian leadership talents under the age of 35. Awarded by a diverse jury, Lars was described as pioneer in agricultural robotics, with a leadership style that is engulfed by trust and autonomy - which we appreciate here at Saga 🤖. As a visionary, Lars is able to find solutions for all sorts of complex problems. We at Saga are very proud to have him as a valuable part of our team. Good things come in three and what a week it’s been! 🌍 First and foremost, Thorvald has reached yet another milestone. He has officially driven over 100.000 autonomous kilometers - that’s almost three full rounds around Earth! Last October he reached 40.000 kilometers since his creation, meaning that this season he has driven >1.5x the distance driven in all previous seasons, combined! Although we would like to give him some well-deserved rest for his great effort, he is already busy mapping new US acres for the 2025 season as well as fulfilling his 2024 season in the UK.  💚 🏆 We have won the Oslo Innovation Award! We are so grateful and proud of this recognition, following in the footsteps of Norwegian unicorns such as Kahoot! and Gelato. As global media and investors have gathered in Norway for Oslo Innovation Week, we’ve partaken in many interesting discussions on the future of sustainable agriculture, as well as made many new friends along the way. 🤝 🙌 Lastly, Anne took part in an engaging discussion at #DNBNXT Oslo's panel on Thursday, where different aspects on how Norwegian companies can succeed internationally were covered. Having treated approximately 10% of all UK strawberries this season, alongside a large jump in US vineyard acres covered for next season, we see the importance for a strong structure, great leadership, and cultural understanding first-hand.

Thorvald was featured in a 2-page spread in Dagens Næringsliv and Kapital Finansavisen this weekend, highlighting our journey with support from Eksfin - Export Finance Norway, which has been crucial in helping us scale internationally. In 999: Norwegians discovered Vinland (an area of coastal North America explored by Vikings). In 2024: More and more "Vinlands" (wine regions) are discovering Norway. It all happened in Kent this week! On Tuesday, we demoed Thorvald to Soren Bjorn and the Driscoll's team, discussing how Clock House Farm has benefited from using Thorvald and exploring future possibilities for agricultural robotics on a large scale. On Wednesday, we exhibited at Fruit Focus, showcasing a few of our robots who took a well-deserved break after a busy night shift at 9 leading farms across the UK. 🇬🇧 🍓 Thank you to everyone who visited our stand and engaged in meaningful discussions on how technology can lead to a healthier, safer, and more sustainable approach to food production.
