SERO AS - The independent control sera specialist is one of the 12 MedTech companies in the Norwegian «National team» for Export from the Health Industry. It was great to represent Sero together with Catherine Hilley and to join this meeting yesterday and discuss what we can do to boost export from Norway further. Special thanks to Heidi Blengsli Aabel and the rest of the steering comittee and Tone Varslot Stave and her team from Innovation Norway. Also a shout-out to Kerstin Schmidt who will lead the export consultants team who will interact with the national team «players» 1:1. Exciting times to be in our sector!
Vi har hatt landslagssamling for de beste i landet innen helseeksport 🩺📦 Vi står foran en stor mulighet – en stor utfordring - og vi har store ambisjoner. Vi skal doble eksportinntekten fra norske helseeksportører fra 22 mrd i 2021 til 50 mrd i 2030. Dette er et tydelig mål som helsenæringen selv satte gjennom innspillet vi leverte til nasjonalt eksportråd i fjor. Sammen med prosjektstyret for helseeksportsatsingen inviterte vi til landslagssamling for de beste i landet på eksport og de som har størst kapasitet til å bli det. «Det er fordi vi tror at raskeste veien til en dobling av eksportinntektene innen 2030 er gjennom de som til enhver tid er best og som kan dra med seg de nest beste», sier Heidi Blengsli Aabel, leder av prosjektstyret for helseeksport og kommersiell direktør i Vitalthings. Av de 37 bedriftene som ble invitert til oss var: 🏥 15 innen legemidler: De representerer 71% av dagens eksportinntekter 🏥 12 innen medtek/utstyr: De representerer 28% av dagens eksportinntekter 🏥 10 innen digital helse: De representerer 1% av dagens eksportinntekter "Dette er altså en satsning for noen utvalgte – og kommer i tillegg til dagens ordninger i Innovasjon Norge og Forskningsrådet som fyller trakta med flere bedrifter som kan delta de kommende årene", understreker Heidi. «Hensikten med samlingen var å samle behov og konkrete forslag slik at vi kan tilpasse aktivitetene i eksportsatsingen der den gir best effekt - sett fra bedriftenes side», sier Tone Varslot Stave, leder av eksportsatsingen hos oss. «Vi er glad for at så mange bedrifter grep denne muligheten til å delta, treffe hverandre og påvirke kursen for satsingen. Det er noe unorsk over å velge ut noen få. Men med så små midler som er avsatt er det viktig å prioritere. Eksportsatsningen er ikke bare et prosjekt – det er en felles visjon for å sikre vekst, bærekraft og bedre helse både i og utenfor Norge», forteller Tone. The Norwegian National Export Council (Nasjonalt eksportråd) has appointed a top management forum for export and value creation from health industry. This forum will give strategic advice on how to implement the health industry export initiative that was launched this year by the Minister of Trade and Industry and the Minister of Health and Care Services. I have now been nominated as one of the members of this council, contributing with the perspective of SERO AS - The independent control sera specialist, a medium-sized (SME) MedTech company with over 90% export revenue. A great opportunity to gain experience and to contribute to making much more export of Norwegian healthcare solutions a reality. Many more companies, also from The Life Science Cluster, are ready for the step on the global stage, and I will do what I can to make them more likely to succeed. It is a continuation of my involvement in the steering committee working on the export initiative and I am grateful for the opportunity to advise on the implementation also. Thanks to Kathrine Myhre and Rune Sundland for organizing the first meeting last week, and also the interesting discussions with all the other participants. We had high energy and I am looking forward to the next meeting.
