The Amethyst recently completed a successful rig tow from Singapore to Labuan in Malaysia, for our valued client Franklin Offshore! Our crew collaborated closely with the client during the planning process, including a yard visit, to ensure smooth preparation for the hook-up and tow-out of the rig. We are pleased to announce that we have signed a contract with Cosco Shipping to build two new high-end Offshore Energy Support Vessels! At 120 meters long, these vessels will feature a spacious cargo deck, 250-ton cranes, a moonpool, and an ROV hangar—designed to support the needs of the oil, gas, and renewable energy markets. The two vessels are scheduled for delivery to Sea1 Offshore in the first and second quarters of 2027. As announced yesterday, Sea1 Offshore intends to sign management agreements for six AHTS vessels owned by the Viking Supply Ships AB (publ.) group. The transfer of vessel management to Sea1 Offshore is planned for completion in October 2024, pending final documentation. This initiative is expected to result in substantial cost-optimizing effects to the benefit of all shareholders. The Norwegian newspaper Finansavisen has commented on the news. Meet Maya Brown! She is a deck cadet from New Zealand who recently joined the Siem Amethyst to further on her career at sea. Maya is in the final stages of completing her under study and will soon achieve her 2nd Officers license. During her time on board, she begun her introduction to the offshore industry by actively participating in the day-to-day vessel operations, vessel maneuvering, DP cargo operations, winch driving, anchor handling deck operations and daily routine 2nd officer’s duties. Having spent most of her cadetship on cruise ships, Maya has successfully transitioned into the offshore industry and thoroughly enjoys her time on board the Siem Amethyst. – Moving into the offshore industry has brought new challenges and invaluable learning opportunities. I have to say, my time onboard the Siem Amethyst has been the most fulfilling and rewarding cadetship yet. I feel privileged to have been a part of a team who fostered such a positive learning environment and who all took an interest in my training. I was actively encouraged to contribute to various operations and be involved in many hands-on jobs. The support I have received during my contract with Sea1 Offshore has allowed me to develop the skills required of a qualified officer and prepare me for the next step in my career, Maya says. Lars Vogel, 2nd Officer on board the Siem Amethyst, adds: – We look forward to seeing Maya progress in her career within Sea1 Offshore and wish her all the best for her upcoming examination.
