🌍 Innovation at the Speed of Light Our recent Smart Energy Network event, hosted in collaboration with Startuplab, gathered an exceptional mix of industry leaders, researchers, and startups to discuss the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the energy sector. From Microsoft’s insights on future-proofing energy systems to THEMA Consulting Group’s analysis of the energy demand surge, the event explored both challenges and opportunities. Speakers like Per Christian Honningsvåg (Microsoft) and Anders Strand Ryssdal (THEMA Consulting) shed light on how AI and energy efficiency are reshaping global infrastructure. Schønning Eysturoy, Senior Director of Innovation Ecosystem at Wazoku, reminded us of the necessity of innovation, saying, “If your business isn’t innovative, it quickly becomes irrelevant and falls behind the competition.” He shared how AI is disrupting industries worldwide, with Wazoku leading initiatives that connect 700,000 global innovators to solve real-world challenges. Their approach is a powerful reminder that collaboration drives change, and innovation is essential to staying ahead. Startups like Versiro (real-time analytics for power producers), Qubit Energy (smart energy solutions for buildings), and SOREN HYDROGEN (accelerating green hydrogen projects) showcased innovative solutions, bridging research and practical application. Led by Christina Wiig of StartupLab, the session inspired a vision of tech-enabled energy resilience. Experts such as Jonas Kristiansen Nøland (NTNU) and Martine Moe Winsnes (Statnett) emphasized the Nordic region’s unique position, combining renewable energy, climate advantages, and smart planning to lead in sustainable digital transformation. As Trond Runar Hagen (Sintef Digital) reminded us, "The future is never what we imagine." But through collaboration and innovation, we can shape an energy sector that’s smarter, greener, and future-ready. #SmartEnergyNetwork #Innovation #AI #Energy #Sustainability #SmartEnergyNetwork #Collaboration #Startups #FutureEnergy Ragnvald Nærø (Naero) Bjarne Hareide Schønning Eysturoy
