If we want to create meaningful and lasting economic change, we must rewrite the underlying narrative.  As it stands, we attempt to change the surface dynamics without addressing the belief systems that shape them. But the truth is; the story of separation, where individuals are isolated and disconnected, has been holding us back. To build a flourishing economic system, we must embrace the story of inter-being, where connection, collaboration, and a shared purpose guide our decisions. Imagine mistaking plastic for food. This is the reality for many sea turtles, whose survival is threatened by our plastic waste. Plastic bags floating in the ocean resemble jellyfish, a key food for turtles. Tragically, each year thousands of turtles ingest plastic, leading to malnutrition, injury, and often death. Recent studies from Marine Pollution Bulletin reveal that over 50% of sea turtles globally have consumed plastic, a crisis that underscores the need for urgent change. Simple actions like picking up litter or skipping plastic straws can make a significant impact to our environment.
