Unlock HR is an app (to be released soon) and community, helping HR professionals become relevant to the business. Many in HR struggle to get leaders and colleagues to see the true value of HR. However, mostly the mindset and perspective in the business is different to HR. The app is all about enabling HR themselves to change others' views on HR, by understanding the mindset and perspective of the business, but also by expanding the HR mindset. The ‘secrets’ in the app are about what HR people didn’t learn in university or business school, but what 25 years of international business HR leadership has brought of experience. What makes HR seen, heard, and valued as a relevant HR professional by delivering what matters to people, the stakeholders, and the organisation. To be regarded as what HR truly is – a business-critical function with an imperative role in delivering the strategy and value creation. The app delivers a video course, theme videos on various topics, and invites members to build a strong HR community. The objective is to change the future careers of the app members to become valued and successful HR professionals and trusted advisers. Recently, I had the pleasure of supporting CTS Nordics in establishing an entire design centre in Lisbon, matchmaking CTS and great talent from across Europe and Brazil. There’s nothing more rewarding tangible result than matching standout professionals with standout companies, allowing their competence to shine and create great value for all stakeholders.     💥 No one will help HR! 💥 I see many posts on LinkedIn where HR professionals say they do not feel seen, heard, valued, or taken seriously as HR professionals. Simply feeling sidelined. 🤯 As an adviser for companies and HR professionals, I occasionally meet a gloomy mood, sometimes self-pitty, amongst some HR professionals on the same topic. Even our HR-guru, prof. Dave Ulrich, raised the question not long ago. 📣 In these cases, I observe there is often a gap between the business expectations towards HR, and HRs understanding OF the business. A gap of what HR needs to deliver for the company to deliver the strategy, and create value for the owners and other stakeholders. However, if HR professionals feel drifting around in backwaters, only HR professionals themselves can get out of it by demonstrating the  famous “added value”, by delivering what the business needs from HR. Which is not done in the HR department, but out there together with the business leaders. It is up to YOU as HR professionals to demonstrate your value.
