Let's take a closer look at Yara Brunsbüttel! 👀   📍 Located 90 km from Hamburg, Yara Brunsbüttel lies on the west coast of the Schleswig-Holstein state on the North Sea and Kiel Canal - an ideal central location for industry.   🏭 The plant was established in 1976 and became part of the Yara family in 2004!   👷 Here, the plant proudly produces ammonia and urea. They also produce AdBlue® which converts harmful substances into environmentally harmless ones, therefore reducing air pollution.   🚢 Recently, Yara Brunsbüttel inaugurated its new ammonia import terminal, which will enable imports of up to three million tonnes of low-emission ammonia to Europe annually!   🎯 Thanks to Yara Brunsbüttel's ideal central location, the new terminal will play an important role in enabling the German hydrogen strategy and contribute to the country’s energy transition.   Learn more about Yara 👉 yara.com

It's a wrap from the European Hydrogen Week! 🎬   We had an exciting week connecting with industry leaders, exploring the latest #hydrogen developments, and contributing to high-level discussions on key topics like carbon pricing and decarbonization.   Here are our takeaways from this year’s edition:   💡 While the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (#CBAM) is a valuable tool to raise #CO2 prices for clean production and ensure a level playing field for imports to Europe, it does not address the challenge of maintaining EU industries' export competitiveness on a global scale.   💡 A successful transition in the #maritime sector requires strengthened cooperation between shipowners, technology providers, fuel suppliers, and port authorities to accelerate #decarbonization efforts.   💡 Certification and standardization are essential for building a reliable international #hydrogenmarket.   💡 While Europe’s hydrogen rollout is moving slower than forecasted, significant strides have been made, with large projects reaching final investment decisions.   At Yara, we are committed to advancing sustainable solutions for the future. Only together can we accelerate the decarbonization journey and make hydrogen a pivotal part of the global clean energy transition. 🎯

🔴 Live from the European Hydrogen Week!   With the revision of the EU’s Emission Trading System (#ETS) and the introduction of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (#CBAM), carbon pricing is emerging as a key enabler for reducing emissions and driving investments in renewable #hydrogen and clean technologies.   "CBAM is a good tool to raise the #CO2 price for clean production and to level the playing field for imports, but it does not address the issue of EU industries export competitiveness in global markets. Exports are crucial for the #fertilizers industry, since the sector serves farmers in both the Southern and Northern hemispheres. We've partnered with Bindewald & Gutting Mühlengruppe and Harry Brot GmbH to produce flour with a lower carbon footprint which will be baked into bread! 🍞   🤝 Together with Yara Deutschland, we're excited to be working on this innovative, collaborative project that's sending a strong signal about the importance of climate protection.   🧑🌾 Starting back in August 2023, ten contract farmers from Bindewald & Gutting Mühlengruppe applied mineral nitrogen fertilizer made from renewable ammonia to 1,200 hectares.    📉 Part of our Yara Climate Choice™ portfolio, they're produced at our plant in Rostock, Germany and have a 75-90% lower carbon footprint compared to the same fertilizer produced from fossil-based natural gas.   🥪 Flashforward to today, the flour with a lower carbon footprint has been baked for the first time!   We're thrilled to see this pioneering project come to life and play a role in reducing the carbon footprint of agriculture in Germany! 👏
