🌬️ The Spanish Offshore Wind Sector Prepares for 2025 Auction in Cadiz! 🌬️ From November 6 to 8, Cádiz hosted the III Offshore Wind Congress, bringing together over 400 national and international experts to discuss the future of floating offshore wind in Spain. The main objective is to install 3 GW of offshore wind by 2030, as outlined in the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC). Key Highlights: Cadiz's Role: As a major hub for offshore wind development, Cadiz boasts a robust industrial ecosystem crucial for constructing wind technology components. Spain's Opportunity: Positioned to become a global leader in floating offshore wind, Spain is already a hub for industrial and technological development. Collaboration is Key: Success hinges on the cooperation between sector players, public administrations, and local communities. Economic Impact: Achieving PNIEC goals could create 7,500 new jobs and contribute over €2,000 million annually to the national GDP. 💨Great news for the French offshore wind market! France has just selected the areas for 9 GW of offshore wind projects (A10) including 5 GW of floating wind. The tender process will start in 2025 with projects awards planned for 2026. Further tenders will be issued in order to achieve 45 GW of offshore wind power by 2050. This is a fantastic opportunity for French-Norwegian collaboration within offshore technology, marine operations, digitalization and subsea engineering. This cross-border collaboration can strengthen the European offshore wind sector, accelerate innovation and establish a robust supply chain supporting the global energy transition. Magnus is our trainee this fall and mainly assists the export team. Alongside being a student at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), he is spending his term at our office in Stockholm. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞, 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐮𝐬? “As a trainee, I get to participate in multiple projects across different sectors. I am also tasked with market research and various types of data processing. These different assignments allow me to write reports, work in Excel, and help create presentations. I have regular meetings with the export team and receive new assignments as they come up. I also get to attend meetings with Norwegian businesses looking to enter the Swedish market, which I really enjoy.” 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲? “Moving to work in another country is a rare opportunity. I also enjoy spending time with my coworkers, either playing padel after work or having lunch together.”
