Introducing Cans for Kai, a new initiative by KAI IKA that transforms consumer waste into community treasure. We're excited to announce that you can now drop off your aluminium cans at Akarana Eatery! In partnership with Phoenix Recycling Group, LegaSea New Zealand, and Papatūānuku Kōkiri Marae, this initiative supports whānau and community groups in South Auckland. Aluminium cans collected at various locations, including ours, are sold to generate funds that directly benefit these communities. 👉 How can you help? Bring your empty aluminium cans to the collection cages located by the stairs to the right of Akarana Eatery. Let’s work together to make a difference—one can at a time! ♻️

Our vision at the Akarana Marine Sports Charitable Trust is to create safe pathways to the sea, for all. So we are all in for this year's World Ocean Day and the mid winter dip! 🌊 World Ocean Day is not just a day of awareness but a call to action. It's an opportunity for individuals and communities worldwide to unite in efforts to protect and preserve our oceans for future generations. So our call to action to you is to come take your leap into the moana at the Hyundai Marine Sports Centre in Okahu Bay. Thanks to Akarana Eatery and Havana Coffee Works, we're offering a free coffee and a pastry to warm you up post dip. ☕ 🥐 To show your support and to get your coffee and pastry, upload a photo of your dip and tag @itsliveocean and @AkaranaEatery on social media with the hashtag #WorldOceanDay. We have hot showers onsite stocked with Eco Store products so you can warm up afterwards! – Give aways on the day! 🚿 🏆 #midwinterdip #events #community
