SME BUSINESS TABLE The inaugural SME Business Table event marked a significant departure from traditional networking gatherings, providing a unique platform where business owners could engage in deep, meaningful conversations about relevant topics. The emphasis wasn't so much on networking but on fostering a supportive environment that encouraged participants to share knowledge, discuss challenges, and offer mutual support. Our first session delved into the critical subjects of culture and leadership, areas that are foundational yet often overlooked in the hustle of daily business operations. The discussions were rich, enlightening, and provided tangible benefits, helping business owners feel less isolated. Although two business owners were absent due to illness, this gathering of 7 business owners turned out to be a great success, sparking valuable insights and connections that participants could take back to enhance their own business practices. We are thrilled with the outcome and look forward to more fruitful discussions in future events. The SME Business Table is a SBNZ Event sponsored by BSP Advisory Group, meetings are once a month for two hours. Transforming SME Businesses - Transforming Lives!
About us
On average, most businesses could improve their annual turnover by around 12% just by making minor improvements to five key areas. 1. Products and Services 2. Marketing and Sales 3. People 4. Systems and Processes 5. Finance and Reporting We are Business Advisors to Small and Medium Sized Enterprises and our mission is to put that money back in the business owners’ pocket. In our experience, most business owners really want three things from their business: • A lot better return for the effort and investment they put in • A smoother less stressful business life • More time to enjoy doing more of what they want. And in nutshell, this is exactly what BSPNZ does. The really cool part is, we can do all this, and not increase their costs by one cent. How do we do that? Well, as you’d imagine, we have worked with literally hundreds of businesses over the years, and what we have found is they generally have a few common traits. They tend to be really good at what they do, but not as good at marketing and business management as they need to be. This is because business owners are so busy constantly putting out fires that the business management and development take a back seat. So, what we do, is help them get clear on where they are at, where they are going and how to implement and manage the change required in a way that puts money and time back in their pocket and reduces their costs. Currently, Business Success Partners are conducting nationwide research into the impact the inefficiencies in these 5 areas are having on SME's, and this is where you get to benefit. If you are a business owner and if you would be prepared to be interviewed, and let us use the results from your interview in our research, un-named of course, we will conduct a Business Makeover identifying the areas where you could improve, and we will provide you with a written copy of our findings.

As the year winds down in New Zealand, it's an opportune time for businesses to reflect on the importance of fostering a strong and engaging company culture. Rewarding staff for their hard work and dedication is more than a nice gesture—it's a strategic move that enhances productivity, boosts morale, and strengthens loyalty. Companies that prioritise activities like group dinners, fishing trips, and go-karting outings are investing in more than just fun. They are crafting an environment where employees feel valued and connected. Such experiences are crucial in building a team spirit that transcends the everyday challenges of work. As we celebrate these moments of camaraderie and relaxation, it becomes clear that a positive workplace culture isn't just beneficial; it's essential for sustained success and employee satisfaction. Let’s recognise the value of these initiatives in creating a vibrant, supportive, and dynamic workplace as we move towards another promising year.

Stoked to take out the number 2 spot again. Coming for that top spot this year Paul Boyack. BBS, CBA.
One of the great joys we have as directors of BSP, is having the opportunity to recognise high achievers in our team. Those that have created an admirable success record with both our clients and our organisation. This year our Champions are Paul Boyack from Wellington, Rob Vertogen from Christchurch and Helen Laidlaw from Hamilton. They have all been very consistent performers over the last few years but a special congratulations to Paul Boyack as our Supreme Advisor of the year.
