Chapman Tripp’s International Law practice and partner Nicola Swan were pleased to host the Minister for Trade and Agriculture, Hon Todd McClay, in conversation with Fran O'Sullivan at our Wellington office recently. The conversation touched on US exports with Trump as President, how diversification in trade makes good economic sense, fixing non-tariff barriers, NZ’s recent signing of the ACCTS trade and sustainability deal, the recent 24 partnership MOUs with China, and our recent trade deals with the GCC and UAE.

There are several structural changes underway for New Zealand’s infrastructure sector, but their success will depend on whether there is political will to agree to and stick to a long-term plan. We were delighted to host the Minister for Infrastructure, Minister for Regional Development and the Leader of the Opposition, as well as a panel of industry and media representatives for Infrastructure New Zealand and The Post’s Future Proofing New Zealand: The 2050 Infrastructure Forum, which discussed the future of bipartisan agreement in infrastructure planning and delivery. We’re thrilled that Chapman Tripp has won the Best in Future of Work Award at the IDC Asia/Pacific Future Enterprise Awards! Spanning 12 countries and over 580 organisations, the awards recognise organisations that are redefining their industries through outstanding digital transformation efforts and harnessing technology to achieve business success and gain competitive advantage. We received this prestigious award for our innovative initiative, Project Minerva, which has significantly transformed our document management system, modernised our workflow, and replaced several legacy systems, resulting in improved efficiency, enhanced collaboration and knowledge management within the firm. This marks the first time a New Zealand business has been recognised at these awards. We are incredibly proud of Sean Bishop and our technology team's hard work and ingenuity which made this achievement possible. #IDCFEAwards #FutureEnterprise
