In April, the Feijoa trees in Golden Bay are heavy with these delicious fruits. After the wonderful feedback we've had on our all natural Grapefruit & Pineapple Vodka we collected kilos of Feijoa fruit and filled the still to make a Feijoa Vodka. Refreshing and zesty, we love this in a simple vodka soda - evoking the end of summer when backyards all over NZ are littered with Feijoa fruit. Since we are only using locally sourced real fruit we only have a limited number of bottles until next years harvest. Available now from our website and cellar door! https://lnkd.in/gZvd53iy
About us
Our journey begins with a love story that takes us from the UK and the United States and ends with one of New Zealand’s most creative and established distilleries – Dancing Sands. Our founders Sarah and Ben first hit it off when they met through their corporate jobs. After managing a long distance relationship between New York and London they decided to start a new chapter together in New Zealand. Eventually, Sarah and Ben Bonoma both left their corporate careers and took a leap into the unknown to establish Dancing Sands Distillery in 2016. Trading the corporate for the creative, and spreadsheets for stills, the Bonomas risked it all to follow their dream: producing world-class spirits in what is the most beautiful place on the planet. Like all great partnerships, Sarah and Ben are more than the sum of their parts. Sarah’s cutting scientific mind (she has a MSc in Genetics) is matched by Ben’s flavour-driven creativity. The result? A dynamic distilling duo on a mission to bring a part of Golden Bay to the rest of New Zealand, and the world.

Golds galore for our recently released Vodkas at the USA SIP Awards ! We use international spirits competitions to benchmark our products and make sure we are producing top class spirits, so we are chuffed to bits to receive a Double Gold for our re-released Vodka, and a Gold for our new Grapefruit and Pineapple Vodka. Our Distillery team worked really hard on developing this flavour and get it just right, using nothing but real fruit. https://lnkd.in/gmSe87UQ

What do the ingredients of our new Grapefruit and Pineapple Vodka look like? This! Kilos and kilos of real fruit, and nothing else. It took months of trial and error to figure out how to capture the plump, juicy flavours of the fruit in our still, but we did it and we are stoked with the result. Big thanks go to Cory, Niki and Dave at the Distillery who did more than their fair share of peeling and chopping to make it happen. Our new Grapefruit and Pineapple Vodka is rolling out to liquor stores around the country. Add a splash of soda or drink over ice and voila, a refreshing drink awaits.... https://lnkd.in/g6Zuz4yA

15,000KG of carbon was eliminated from our earth's atmosphere in just one short year. We'll cheers to that. It's already been just over a year since we released our new look, and new bottles proudly made here in Aotearoa. By eliminating shipping our bottles in from overseas, making our bottles more lightweight, and using recycled transition glass we've eliminated 15,000KG of carbon from our footprint. This same amount of carbon would take more than 16 cubic metres of forest to absorb, or the energy equivalent of charging your smartphone 1.5 million times. These kinds of huge changes are not possible for businesses without people like yourselves creating a demand for more sustainably produced drinks. https://lnkd.in/g6S9jzf5

Their popular SPRUCE cloths feature designs and artwork from Kiwi artists, and are a reusable alternative to paper towels. The Green Collective also creates upcycled products, Emma is currently working on making laptop sleeves and bags from an advertising banner. Emma is committed to offering Kiwis beautifully designed, upcycled, and sustainable alternatives for their homes.

Many of our favourite drinks have been given a facelift in recent years, from craft beer, natural wine, and of course craft gin. Now it's time for vodka to get a similar makeover. No more acidic, rough Vodka, expect really smooth, buttery Vodka. Instead of artificially flavoured, sickly sweet fruit flavoured vodkas, we're bringing you a flavoured vodka that's only flavoured using real fruit. Kilos and kilos of grapefruit and pineapple went into our newest release and nothing else. Dancing Sands new Vodka range is the pinnacle of purity. https://lnkd.in/gmSe87UQ

INTRODUCING: Grapefruit & Pineapple Vodka. Dancing Sands is known for pushing the envelope on Gin flavour innovation, and now we're doing the same for Vodka. Real slices of fruit are vapour distilled to create a marriage of tropical pineapple delight, balanced with the acidity and mild bitterness of grapefruit. Don't expect an overwhelming sweetness on the nose or palate, expect sophisticated and subtle real fruit flavour. Available exclusively from our website, and coming to all good bottle shops soon. Happy International Women's Day! As part of our series highlighting businesses we love in Te Tauihu we're shining the spotlight on Yum Granola. Yum was founded by Sarah Hedger, who was recently named one of Cuisine Magazines Top 50 women in NZ food & beverage. Yum's range of breakfasts include their 6 granola flavours and a gluten-free pancake mix. Yum also does exciting limited-release granolas, like their newest Hawea Honeycomb. Sarah H met our Sarah B through local Te Tauihu business events a couple of years ago, and they can now be found out mountain biking together whenever they aren't busy running their businesses. https://yumnz.co.nz/
