Saturday’s Open Day hosted by APL Manufacturing to promote the new Earn as You Learn NZ Certificate in Manufacturing Level 3 delivered by Wintec - Waikato Institute of Technology was a resounding success, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of 110 students and parents. The event showcased not only the innovative curriculum that integrates hands-on experience with theoretical knowledge but also highlighted the myriad career opportunities available in the manufacturing sector. Attendees engaged with six leading Waikato manufacturers APLManufacturing, Greengrower, Hansa Products, NZAero, ESPlastics, ESP Medical Ltd and Longveld and explored real-world applications of the skills they would gain through the program. The atmosphere buzzed as families connected with Howard Fountaine, Johann Roozenburg, Mussolino Humby, Hillary Sharp Adene Versteeg, Josh Hutton Grant Edwards Les Roa Gary McNeill Kerry Wilson commitment to fostering a skilled workforce, reinforcing the value of learning while earning. This successful turnout marked a significant step toward bridging the skills gap in New Zealand's manufacturing industry.
