Thank you to Pakuranga Intermediate School for taking part in the Sensory Art Competition! Pakuranga Intermediate was one of three Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland schools who challenged their students to create artwork that focusses on senses other than sight – touch, sound, smell, etc – and make something that would be engaging to someone who’s blind or has low vision. The students used recycled materials to create artwork representing Aotearoa and Kiwiana. Many students incorporated Braille into their art. Tip six: Get your eyes tested! Regular check-ups every two years are the best way to make sure kids’ eyes stay healthy. If you notice a change or things look blurry, tell mum or dad so they can book an eye test. #ChildrensEyeHealth #LoveYourEyes #WorldSightDay #EyeHealth #eyehealthaotearoa Specsavers International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) Blind Low Vision NZ Macular Degeneration NZ One Foundation Life Education Trust NZ Asian Health Services New Zealand Association of Optometrists https://lnkd.in/g9pGGAn3
