FILTEC Ltd is proud to share the completion of a new ultrafiltration containerised plant designed and built for Ruapehu District Council. 💧 This plant provides safe, high-quality drinking water to the Owhango community in compliance with the Drinking Water Quality Assurance Rules. The water is taken from a tributary stream of Whakapapa River known as Deep Creek, and flows through the Tongariro State Forest. 🌲🌲 While naturally clear, this water source can have high turbidity and colour during rain events. FILTEC’s coagulation and ultrafiltration systems, paired with UV disinfection, chlorination and pH correction, removes particles and impurities, ensuring crystal-clear, reliable drinking water all year round. ✨ Plus, to conserve water, the plant recycles approximately 90% of its wastewater back through the treatment process, minimising environmental impact and waste.
