Fundraising Radicals

Non-profit Organizations

We're here to encourage and equip you with regionally-relevant theory, tools and tactics to fund your local impact.

About us

I'll never forget how lost I felt when I started out in fundraising (30+ years ago!) it felt like there were too many options, not enough time, and no one to guide me. So, I plan to share everything I have learned from working with brilliant people across the world (in 100+ countries) and convene regional experts who have deep experience and expertise in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Oceania. Together we will explore, encourage, and equip each other with regionally-relevant theory, tools, and tactics - we'll also share simple sense-making structures that bring clarity and build your confidence - so you can build and navigate holistic, high-value partnerships that will fund and resource your local impact.

  • Global funding feels narrow and shallow right now, so it's time to narrow our focus, deepen our existing partnerships, and use these to explore new opportunities particularly those that are geographically closer to us. We've added an online fundraising training course for free to our Google Drive Folder (4 workbooks, 60+ videos, some tools, and lots of examples) that will help you structure and explore your approach to funders: https://lnkd.in/gwWQyKTZ If you've been affected by the recent funding stoppage or are just looking to make your fundraising more efficient and effective, maybe check them out and we hope they're helpful. All best wishes as you navigate this challenging fundraising landscape. #fundraising #training #onlinecourse #fundingpartnerships #corporatepartnerships #trustfundraising #governmentfundraising #nonprofitfundraising #fundingcuts #stopwork United States Agency For International Development Government of the Netherlands Craig Pollard

A world of experience (30+ years in 100+ countries) to guide your journey to funded - Strategic Design, Innovation, Mentoring + Training.

Global fundraising and partnership-building practice has been dominated for too long by "expertise" that is based on narrow, shallow experiences in Europe and North America. This "global" fundraising doctrine lacks nuance, relevance, and is often harmful within the completely different cultures and contexts in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Oceania. We're not just talking about "localisation" of fundraising. We've been walking this path for a while now. Fundraising Radicals offers a practical learning pathway that leads to funded local impact. We couldn't do this work without brilliant people. The altFUND programme (Global Funding for Local Impact) couldn't happen without this wonderful global faculty, who create spaces for our exploration towards funded impact, who become accomplices in the funding journeys of others, who platform the relevant experiences of the participants, and who share their own deep and broad experiences of starting and sustaining funding partnerships in these regions. These remarkable people, civil society leaders, formidable partnership-builders will be your global faculty - walking alongside you during this year's altFUND programme 😊🙏🏼🥳 : Dr. Kyaw Moe Tun (Myanmar/US) Nachula Wilson (Ghana/Malawi) Lilian Mabonga (PMP®.PMD Pro. MBA.) (Kenya) Lucila Sarquis (Argentina) Steve Murigi (UK/East Africa) Jessica Oddy-Atuona (UK) Emily Monville Oro (Philippines) We'll be closing our doors to new registrations in a few weeks and still have a few places left on this year's programme (lasts 20 weeks, from 31 March). So, if you are looking to explore the world of building funding partnerships that are human, holistic, and high-value (alongside this group of awesome people)... If you're seeking to equip yourself with the theory, tools, and tactics you need to fund your local impact from a wide range of sources... Find out more and register at https://lnkd.in/gu3uZjqK Oh, and we're offering massive parity discounts to independent NGOs in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Oceania. #fundraising #training #fundingpartnerships #shiftthepower #localisation

A world of experience (30+ years in 100+ countries) to guide your journey to funded - Strategic Design, Innovation, Mentoring + Training.

The primary focus of Fundraising Radicals has always been on the (often invisible) contribution we make to the global fundraising ecosystem - sharing regionally-relevant theory, tools, and tactics - for ten years now. But last year something changed. Our impact became more immediate. Our impact became more visible. 120+ of our certificated participants generously shared their testimonials of how much actual funding they raised during the programme - and many generously attributed this to the programme. Here are some of their words and achievements. Shared with gratitude. If you're interested in joining this year's altFUND "Global Funding for Local Impact" programme check out the link in the comments. #fundraising #training

A world of experience (30+ years in 100+ countries) to guide your journey to funded - Strategic Design, Innovation, Mentoring + Training.

Mostly, I don't really know or see what difference this work makes. I only see a few of the ripples. Most disappear into the distance. Our programmes are small contributions into big, long, and complex processes. This is all okay. Because it's taken me this long to realise that it doesn't matter if we rarely see what comes out the other end, if we're confident about the value and quality we're putting in - that's what really matters. Showing up every year, convening brilliant people to guide others to fund their impact, is the right thing for me (and us!) to be doing now, maybe more than ever. The primary focus of Fundraising Radicals has always been on the (often invisible) contribution we make to the global fundraising ecosystem - sharing regionally-relevant theory, tools, and tactics - for ten years now. The results have been hard to see. But sometimes, many years later, participants from our previous (rough and ready!) courses get in touch to tell us about how we helped to fundamentally pivot their fundraising journey, understanding and practice - and generously attribute a part of their subsequent funding successes. But last year something changed. Our impact became more immediate. Our impact became more visible. 120+ of our certificated participants generously shared their testimonials of how much actual funding they raised during the programme - and many generously attributed this to the programme. In doing so, they have shone a hundred lights onto the previously hard to see impact of Fundraising Radicals, they have given it shape, and helped me to understand and see it better. Here are some of their words and achievements. Shared with gratitude. #fundraising #training #humanity #justice #equity #funding

  • The past few weeks have been a whirlwind in the international development sector. I know many of you who are directly and indirectly affected by the uncertainty around USAID funding. This is an unexpected acceleration of a decades-long decline in the quality and reliability of institutional funding. If you're based in #Africa, #Asia, #LatinAmerica, or #Oceania and seeking practical guidance to explore other sources of funding we're making our past training sessions and panel events available for FREE in this Google Drive Folder: https://lnkd.in/gwWQyKTZ We'll add more free training resources during the coming days and weeks. For now, you can access our 2024 series of four one-hour Regional Panel Webinars. These share relevant regional experiences from our global faculty to guide your explorations into: - Corporate Partnerships in Africa (English) - Holistic Funding Partnerships in South East Asia (English) - Grantseeking & Proposals in Africa (English) - Social Innovation and Social Impact in Latin America (Spanish) Please do repost to share this with your networks. #fundraising #training #diversifyincome #freetraining #USAID #institutionalfunding #nonprofits #resourcemobilisation

A world of experience (30+ years in 100+ countries) to guide your journey to funded - Strategic Design, Innovation, Mentoring + Training.

Last year the Fundraising Radicals award-winning training programme walked alongside hundreds of civil society leaders in more than 100 countries (95% in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Oceania) as they resourced their impact. For the 120 certificated graduates the experience was transformational. Some of them testified to their changed mindsets and methods in the document below. We have distilled a decade of learning of exploring regionally relevant approaches to starting and sustaining funding partnerships that are high-value, holistic and human. Our global faculty has equipped hundreds of civil society organisations with theory, tools, and tactics to explore new frontiers and approaches, to reduce dependence on traditional donors, to integrate funding streams, and secure the resources they need to fund their impact. In 2025, we step forward with "altFUND" the award-winning alternative certificate in Global Funding for Local Impact. This is a 20-week experience and exploration of what it takes to fund impact - a programme of teaching, coaching, connection, and min-projects - this has been designed with and for civil society leaders and organisations in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Oceania. We have now filled 16 of the 32 places available for this year's programme, which begins on 31 March and runs to mid-August. Find out more about who we are and what we do and register for one of the remaining places at: https://lnkd.in/gu3uZjqK. #fundraising #training #partnerships #institutionalfunding #corporatepartnerships #hnwi #trustfunding #futurefunding
