We believe that creating a compelling environment for success begins with enabling great leadership. Through our Performance Focused Leadership Programme, we’re continuing to grow great leaders across Gallagher. Kelvin Wong, Head of Animal Fencing for Gallagher Animal Management, recently completed the programme, which focuses on three key leadership dynamics: setting expectations, continually coaching, and creating accountability. “When you're leading, it's something that you just do. But the programme gave us frameworks to break our leadership into little chunks and deeply examine the ways we lead. The programme enabled us to crystalise familiar concepts into the frameworks and reflect on the things that we do and don't do,” Kelvin says. Peter Burgess, an Architect and People Leader for Gallagher Security, enjoyed that his cohort represented a cross-section of the business. “I was a little apprehensive at first, as I thought ‘these people are not going to have much in common with me’. But as I got talking to some of the other leaders, I realised that while they were in completely different roles to me, we all shared the same type of highlights and challenges and could learn a lot from each other,” says Peter. We’re excited to roll out the programme further in 2025, equipping more leaders with the tools to protect what matters most.

Gallagher Animal Management’s Customer Experience Manager, Kelly Letcher, says although her role is relatively new to the industry, it has become increasingly essential for businesses around the world. “Customer experience (CX) has always been integral to a business's success, but we are starting to see more of a demand for it within companies. CX is influenced by how effectively a brand meets or exceeds customer expectations, so we are really starting to see the shift in business strategies to focus on how we are making customers feel," Kelly says. Kelly recently shared her insights at the NZ Tech Marketers Conference 2024, discussing why CX is essential in today’s market and outlining Gallagher’s approach. “Although it was a bit nerve-wracking, I was super excited to share why I think CX is more important than ever. I discussed how we leverage brand surveys, user research, website optimisation, and marketing automation to drive meaningful connections with customers. Customer experience is a true competitive edge in today’s world," says Kelly. ➡️ Read more about how Kelly's enhancing customer touchpoints with Gallagher: https://lnkd.in/gCiWXXzJ

As we head into one of the busiest times of the year, World Kindness Day, on November 13, is perfect reminder of the positive impact that small acts of appreciation can bring, especially in the workplace. Kindness often simply means putting other people’s needs before our own—sticking around for a few extra seconds to hold the door open for someone or offering to make a cup of tea for someone if they are busy! Wellbeing is at the heart of protecting what matters most, and evidence has shown that helping others can benefit our own mental health and wellbeing. It can reduce stress as well as improve self-esteem and our mood, grow and enhance our support networks and encourages us to be more active. Here are five ideas to spread kindness in the workplace: 1. Say hi and ask how someone's day is 2. Help a teammate build their network 3. Bring treats or baking 4. Recommend a good book or movie 5. Buy/make a teammate a coffee

For a growing number of Gallagher people, Microsoft Copilot is transforming the way they work and freeing up time for what matters most. Group Organisational Development Manager, Simon, says Copilot has become his "extra layer of thinking" and helps him cut through time-consuming tasks. “It’s made those time-sucking activities so much simpler. Instead of watching a recording from start to finish, I’m able to zero in on essential actions and decisions. It takes time to get used to, but Copilot works alongside us, allowing us to be more efficient and effective in our roles,” he says. For Gallagher Security's Technical Lead, Darrel, Copilot has made searching for documents, creating user stories, and building acceptance criteria so much easier. “It’s like having an objective guide to ensure consistency,” he explains. Dave, a Warehouse Manager in Canada, has found a unique benefit in Copilot’s ability to help him communicate clearly. When tasked with writing a difficult email, Dave struggled to find the right words quickly. That’s when Copilot stepped in, helping him craft a clear, professional message that hit all the right notes. “It lets me focus on what I’m trying to say, not just how to say it,” he says. As part of a pilot group to test the technology, these Gallagher people have found that Copilot is more than just a tool—it’s a partner that enables them to further protect what matters most for our customers.
