  • GPIL Sponsored the CCNZ BOP Regional Award for Category C back in October. Our congratulations to Award winner Brian Perry Civil and Highly Commended recipient Fulton Hogan. Some really great projects across all categories and it was a pleasure to be able to continue our sponsorship and support and have a great night out with BOP contractors.

  • Congratulations to Corde for winning the Category A Award at last month's Canterbury Westland CCNZ Awards. GPIL were very proud to continue our support and sponsorship of this award as part of giving back to our industry. Category A: projects with a value of up to $500,000 – sponsored by Geosynthetic Partners International Ltd (GPIL) Winner: CORDE for the Eastman Wetland Bridge Judges’ citation: “CORDE’s delivery of this project was exceptional. From the effort its team put in, to preparing the construction management plan, to the quality of the finished product – their project management and execution was exemplary. Unexpected challenges included the river being wider than it was supposed to be and the specified anchor blocks not fitting the piles. The client was appreciative of CORDE’s collaborative approach to their relationship and its commitment to doing all it could to protect the surrounding wetland environment.”

  • While the general state of the NZ civil infrastructure and private sector works has been extremely challenging and difficult for contractors, consultancies and suppliers over the past 18 months, this spring and beginning of summer has been very busy for the GPIL Team. For the third year in succession, we have attended and sponsored all CCNZ Regional Awards to put something back into our industry and to show our gratitude for contractor support of GPIL. Chris attended the fib International fibres conference at Te Pae in Christchurch with BarChip and Pultron Mateenbar. And after a quiet winter Laurie is seeing the ProTank water management system projects take off again which may hopefully be an early encouraging sign for the land development sector. We have also seen record volumes in geotextile and pavement geogrids and along with our key specialist contractor partners we have already secured many Bentofix GCL containment projects for this summer season. I recently had the pleasure of introducing Jorg Klompmaker, Product Manager for Naue Stabilisation and Reinforcement Products, to NZ engineers for a range of presentations related to Naue geogrids for pavement stabilisation and many soil reinforcement applications such as RSS, MSE, LTP's, embankments on soft soils and working platforms. Our travels included a couple of site visits where Naue geogrid products and related GPIL solutions are being used (see pics attached). Many thanks to Randell October at the EBA site at Ti Rakau Drive for receiving our brief visit where Secugrid Q1 PP geogrids have been extensively used along with GPIL geotextiles, Paraweb with Stone Strong MSE walls and other GPIL materials. Thanks Jorg for your efforts on this long trip before we all take a well earned break after a busy year for Naue and GPIL in NZ. As we begin December, may I take this opportunity to thank our dedicated small team at GPIL for their efforts during the year as we continue to grow the business across the country. And many thanks to our key supply chain partners such as Naue, TMP and Maccaferri, our logistic partners, our local reseller partners, our specialist installation contractor partners and to those contractors and designers who have supported us again in 2024. We have a wider geographic presence on our radar for 2025 and so we will no doubt be keeping the pedal to the metal. Wishing you all a safe and happy Christmas, enjoy some quality family time and best wishes for 2025.

  • GPIL were very grateful to receive Jorg Klompmaker, Product Manager for Stabilisation and Reinforcement Products, at Naue during which Jorg presented to many design consultancies, NZTA, KiwiRail and key contractor designers across Auckland and remotely to customer branches nationwide. The presentations to almost 200 engineers were very well received by attendees with topics across Naue geogrid solutions including pavement stabilisation, working platforms, embankments on soft soils and load transfer platforms spanning piles and stone columns and an introduction to Naue Portal Software Solutions https:portal.naue.com/ Many thanks Jorg. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2025.

  • Great first day at the CCNZ National Conference in Invercargill where GPIL and Stone Strong NZ are joint Silver Sponsors. Good support from attendees today. Highlight today was a super inspirational presentation from Sir Ian Taylor. Thankyou for reminding fellow Kiwis what can be achieved with a positive can do attitude. I hope Sir Ian's presentation was recorded by CCNZ and available to members .
