Claudelands Conference and Exhibition Centre had the pleasure of hosting global medical experts at last week's Annual Scientific Meeting of the New Zealand Society of Gastroenterology (NZSG) and the NZNO Gastroenterology Nurses' College. This conference brought together some of the brightest local and international medical minds to explore new frontiers in gastroenterology and hepatology. Over three days, experts from America were among the invited delegates, including leading professionals from Canada and Australia. They converged in Hamilton to share their cutting-edge research and clinical insights, underscoring Hamilton’s growing reputation as a hub for scientific excellence and medical advancement. It was an evening of celebration, marked by thrilling goal-scoring action and groundbreaking business achievements, as two of our premier venues simultaneously hosted incredible events. History was made as the All Whites played at FMG Stadium Waikato for the first time against Vanuatu in a FIFA World Cup 2026™ qualifiers match. Over 10,000 passionate fans cheered them on, witnessed Samoa and Tahiti play, and celebrated the All Whites' 8-1 victory. While fans supported our football heroes, GLOBOX Arena, Claudelands, hosted the largest Waikato Chamber of Commerce Business Awards to date. Over 740 guests from across the region gathered to celebrate and acknowledge the success of Waikato businesses. This year marks 40 incredible years of the Waikato Home & Garden Show. We are honoured to have collaborated with the team on this longstanding event and celebrate this monumental milestone. From 3 - 6 October, GLOBOX Arena & Events Centre, Claudelands welcomed the return of this iconic event. Established in 1895, the first Waikato Home & Garden Show covered 3 exhibition halls and hosted 60 exhibitors. 40 years on, the event has grown to become New Zealand’s largest specialist home and garden show, with over 300 exhibitors spread across the entirety of Claudelands, and welcoming over 19,000 attendees. With two major sporting events simultaneously taking place, all eyes were on GLOBOX Arena & Events Centre, Claudelands in the first week of September 2024. The Claudelands Conference and Exhibition Centre was transformed to set the stage for the Predator Pro Billiards Series, welcoming professional pool players from around the globe. Visitors attended back-to-back matches to witness the Men’s World 8-Ball, Women’s World 9-Ball, and Junior World 10-Ball Championships. With welcoming ceremonies taking place at the Hamilton Gardens, players, family, and friends experienced an event offering like no other. The functionality of Claudelands’ multifaceted spaces was on full display. While billiard supporters witnessed the Predator Pro Billiards Series semi-finals, boxing enthusiasts gathered at GLOBOX Arena, Claudelands, for the Ironfist International Charity Fight Night. It was a pleasure to witness world-renowned billiard professionals and boxers compete under one roof. With visitors travelling from all around the country, the globe, and many more watching through live stream, we are extremely proud to showcase our venue, city and region.
