They say heat rises, and in this case, it literally does!   We’ve hit a milestone on one of our Southbase Group projects, with our team successfully lifting the heat pumps into place. Our site leader, Henry, took control of this, ensuring health and safety was paramount. Exclusion zones were established, and the team was fully aware of all potential risks on-site.   Great work, team! Another step closer to completing this project for our clients.

This week is WorkSafe New Zealand's Asbestos Awareness Week, focused on raising awareness about New Zealand's biggest workplace killer and improving processes to ensure our staff's safety when heading onto sites. Each year, around 220 people die from asbestos-related diseases, most of which are preventable with proper protection, training, and internal processes. ✨ Flashback Friday to the incredible One Queen Street Project! A stunning 20 story, Greenstar-rated mixed-use building in the heart of Auckland. Proudly built by LT McGuiness for Precinct Properties, One Queen Street blends luxury with functionality - featuring premium office spaces, Deloitte's head office, a five-star Intercontinental hotel, rooftop bar, gym and more. Truly an iconic addition to Auckland! Last Wednesday night, we had the privilege of attending the Living Wage Employer NZ's 10-Year Anniversary Function, celebrating their service and commitment to social change, as well as the employers who have embraced and taken on the challenge of paying their employees and contractors fair, livable wages. The event provided valuable insight into the impactful work done by the Living Wage team and highlighted how paying employees a fair wage extends beyond their paycheck. It grants them essential life benefits such as more time, greater freedom, and the opportunity to reconnect with their community. Thank you, Living Wage, for an inspiring evening. Flashback Friday! We're reflecting on some of the fantastic projects Hanlon has had the privilege to work on alongside our fantastic main contractors. This week, we're reflecting on the incredible Building B201 at Auckland University, completed in 2023 for the Ministry of Education with Hawkins🏛️✨ Standing tall at nine floors and reaching a height of 41.5 meters, B201 has made a remarkable impact. We're proud to announce that this innovative project recently won two prestigious awards from the International Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat: The Repositioning Award of Excellence for its sustainable refurbishment, and the Systems Awards of Excellence! 🏆🌍 As a Green Star Project, B201 achieved the highest-ever 6 Green Star Rating, showcasing our commitment to environmentally friendly practices and sustainable building solutions. Our team played a role in the crucial plumbing required for the project delivering capabilities, including stormwater management, cold water systems, sanitary sewers, hot water solutions and non-potable cold-water systems. A huge shoutout to our dedicated team for their hard work and excellence in completing this project to the best of their abilities.
