🚧 Wynyard Crossing Bridge update 🚧 This was the first stage of Eke Panuku Development Auckland's restoration project - removing the western lifting leaf using a jack-up barge and crane. This method meant we could safely lift and transport the bridge sections to Wynyard Wharf, where we've been blasting and painting them in a controlled environment. Safety, efficiency, and limiting environmental and stakeholder impact are our top priorities as we continue this mahi. Stay tuned for more updates! #WynyardCrossing #Bridgerepair #Engineering #Construction https://lnkd.in/gsbNGuZz

Having a whale of a time at Wynyard Quarter! 🐳 These beautiful creatures orca-nised a show for our crew yesterday. Working in construction isn't always black and white, but it definitely has its fin-tastic moments. We love to sea-change in our communities! 🌊 #orca #taonga #marineconstruction #greatdayintheoffice https://lnkd.in/gBqZ43ZB

Tiaan Volschenk and the team are working hard to connect Te Tai Tokerau and facilitate safe, easy journeys before the festive season🌲 🛣️ 🎅 Awesome mahi team!
We're nearing completion of asphalting on State Highway 1 through Mangamuka Gorge in Northland, and roadworkers are also working on installing barriers and signage and completing line marking before we open the road in late December. Here's a great behind-the-scenes look at the asphalting work – Tiaan Volschenk, Surfacing Supervisor for HEB Construction, talks through the work happening to install the final asphalt surface. We'll be reopening SH1 through Mangamuka Gorge on 20 December 2024. Keep up to date with our work by signing up to our email newsletter. Check out our Liebherr LR1280w Crawler Crane at the Manawatu Tararua Highway Project. This 6-point lift was completed using 2 spreader bars lifting the form traveler from the bridge weighing 52t, the LR1280w was set up with 120t of superlift ballast to complete this lift. Great work from Jason Campbell, Ethan Watson and the wider SCC team working on this project. Thanks to our client HEB Construction and the Te Ahu a Turanga Alliance Partners.

With many client organisations gearing up to use the public-private partnership (PPP) funding model, it's important for contractors to understand the changes. We joined Infrastructure New Zealand and GHD last week, to discuss how the PPP model allocates risk, emphasises commercial performance, and rewards innovation at all stages of delivery. Thanks to Nick Leggett, Brendan Herder, and others, for an interesting and insightful evening.
