Over the holiday period, our dedicated team has been focused on constructing a specialised airtight enclosure for the safe removal of asbestos-containing bitumen from a rooftop spanning 100 metres. With the building scheduled for demolition, it is critical to remove the bitumen and adhesive—a process that risks releasing asbestos fibres. To manage this safely, we’ve implemented a fully sealed enclosure, equipped with negative pressure units and H-type filters to capture any airborne fibres. A rigorous 5-stage decontamination system and continuous air monitoring ensure that no asbestos fibres are released into the environment. Finishing touches on the tavern demolition project. This job presented a unique challenge — an 8m deep pit left by a basement chiller room. Simply filling it wasn't an option, as poor compaction could create fall hazards, rainwater pools, or unstable ground conditions. Charlie and Puni ensured the pit was filled properly, layering and compacting the material to create a safe, stable surface for the holiday period and beyond. A clearance doesn't always mean ALL asbestos has been removed. A clearance means the asbestos identified IN THE SURVEY has been removed. We initially received clearance on this site, but thanks to Charlie's keen attention to detail, we've identified unexpected asbestos in obsolete underground pipes during earthworks — over 60 metres so far. Our asbestos removal team has returned to site to manage the risk safely and efficiently. A great example of vigilance and teamwork preventing a potential contamination issue.
