  • 🔔 Payment reminder: Have a bill to pay for the 2023-24 tax year? It’s due by Friday 7 February 2025.  It might seem like a while away but time flies, especially over the summer holidays. Get organised and get it sorted early.  Head to your myIR account to pay in full, or set up an instalment arrangement to make smaller, regular payments. You can also pay using your banking app, credit or debit card.   If you have a tax agent, you might have an extension of time (EOT) until 7 April 2025. Get in touch with your tax agent if you're unsure. To find out more or make a payment, visit: ird.govt.nz/7-feb

  • Want to pay off your student loan faster? Our simple calculator can show you how much faster you can pay off your student loan if your income increases, or if you make extra payments. All you need is your student loan balance in order to determine when you will pay it off. You can find this information in your student loan account in myIR. You can check out the online calculator here - https://lnkd.in/gB66Tfin

  • Thinking of nominating someone to handle your personal tax affairs? If you want someone to act on your behalf, you must set them up as a nominated person first. They will be able to access and update your details through their own myIR account. 🔔 Nominating someone to act on your behalf does not change your obligations. You still need to file returns and make payments on time. You'll find steps on how to nominate someone here - https://lnkd.in/gAdiKg-w

  • Have you heard of 2FA (two-factor authentication)? There are a lot of personal details tied up in online accounts. From banking to social media, to myIR. 2FA is an additional layer of security that helps to protect your online accounts. It’s a way of ensuring that it's really you logging into your account. And it's one of the most effective ways to keep attackers out. You can think of 2FA like having two locks on your house. First, you unlock your front door using a key. But you can also have a second lock that requires a code. Having 2FA for your online accounts is similar. First, you log in with your username and password. Then secondly, you input a temporary code (usually from an authentication app, or a text message with a one-off code). If you do not have 2FA set up, we recommend adding it to your online accounts. You can start by checking out our website to find out how to set up 2FA for your myIR account - https://lnkd.in/g-VbvQff
