  • Our first Tauranga streetscape project is a beauty! We completed Whakahounga a te Papa Masonic streetscape physical works in Tauranga's CBD for LT McGuinness Ltd. as part Tauranga City Council's revitalisation of the civic and waterfront precinct.   “Masonic Park is the first project to be completed as part of Te Manawataki o Te Papa and is the vital link between the civic precinct and the waterfront.” - Tauranga Mayor Mahé Drysdale We look forward to the opportunity to further collaborate with LT McGuiness and Tauranga City Council on upcoming stages of the central waterfront development, to deliver high-quality streetscapes that boosts city engagement, promotes resilience, enhances placemaking, and drives economic growth.

JFC Ltd went live with Fareshare last month. Fareshare allows employers to subsidise their employee's public transport costs by 25%, 50% or 75%.  JFC Ltd have made Fareshare available to all their employees to offer transport solutions for their urban projects. We love it when our suppliers help us on our mission to increase public transport usage and lower carbon emissions.    Sam Lockie Executive General Manager of JFC, shared that: ‘Providing public transport options for our teams, especially those travelling into our CBD projects, means we’re playing our part in reducing carbon emissions. We know that every journey helps reduce carbon emissions and traffic congestion, so we’re excited about Fareshare and being able to incentivise public transport for our teams."    If you're interested in Fareshare and how it could work for you, head to at.govt.nz/fareshare

  • Got a minute? Check out our team in action as they place the first beams for the Jutland Road pedestrian bridge in Pukekohe! For Auckland Transport we're constructing a 50m footbridge, creating a 3.5-metre-wide shared path for people walking, or riding their bikes and scooters, connecting neighbourhoods and providing safe access for children across Whangapouri Creek.

  • We’re proud to have received the inaugural Buyer of the Year award at the Navigate 2024 AMOTAI Supplier Diversity Awards, recognising our organisational commitment, engagement and leadership in supplier diversity. We continue our core relationship with Amotai - Supplier Diversity NZ and remain to build strong relationships with Mana Whenua, Matāwaka and local Iwi affiliated businesses in the areas we work in. Our success is founded in the belief that supporting Māori and Pasifika SMEs to develop internal capabilities, regulatory compliance and steady work pipeline, not only brings wider benefits to the industry but also strengthens communities. A massive congratulations to our fellow category finalists #MinistryofEducation and #Downer, it takes a collective industry effort to make a real change.

It's been a year since we unveiled the stunning upgrades to Swan Lane and Garrett Street, and we're excited to share the community's response 🎉 The goal was to create a safer, more inviting environment that enhances community interaction and enjoyment. The addition of new surfacing, rain gardens, lighting, and seating has not only beautified the area but has made it more useful for locals and visitors. From dog walking to dance classes, this space is buzzing with life. Nearly 200 survey responses highlighted a 94% satisfaction rate, with many praising the improved walkability and enhanced safety. Businesses and residents in the area have also noticed the positive changes, noting that the general ambience and vibrancy have significantly improved. Stephanie O'Shea, our Senior Urban Designer, reflects on the project's success, “It has been awesome to get this feedback on the finished space from businesses and the community and to hear how we can improve our processes for upgrading our city." National HSE Manager at JFC Ltd

Last Friday I was provided the opportunity to present at the Wellington City Council's Transport Safety Breakfast. This was great opportunity to discuss the development of JFC Ltd’s safety culture and how we engage with our teams, clients and stakeholder around health and safety and the challenges we have overcome in developing a robust, but ever evolving culture within JFC. It was also a fantastic opportunity to meet with our Wellington colleagues from Fulton Hogan and Downer and discuss why safety matters, and finding the commonalities across our industry of the importance in making sure we all get home safely. Ngā  mihi to Melanie Ahnau, Kylie HookBradley Singh and Chris Brown for organising a great event.
