Looking back on 2024: This year has been a journey of resilience, growth, and unshakable belief in the value of what we do at Pacific Kids' Learning. Through every high and low, we have held steadfast to our mission, knowing that our work is about so much more than creative technology or animation - it is about transforming systems and nurturing a digital vā with Indigenous intelligence, where our tamaiti can thrive. Our commitment is rooted in creating spaces, structures, and opportunities that have historically been out of reach for Pacific communities. This work is about reclaiming, rebuilding, and designing a digital future that uplifts our children and their cultural identity. In 2024, we celebrated incredible milestones: 🌺 We launched our own children's digital library with nearly 300 animated stories, songs, and dances across 10 Pacific languages. 🌺 We produced and premiered a Pacific language children’s feature film at Hoyts Cinemas. 🌺 We ran in-school animation workshops, inspiring young creators to become digital storytellers. 🌺 We have published 8 eBooks, soon to be 16 eBooks in Gagana Samoa and Lea Faka Tonga. 🌺 We travelled across to Hawai‘i, Tonga, and Samoa, taking our children's digital library and Pacific ed-tech tools, placing them into the hands of our children who need them most. As a small, women-led, and Pacific-driven organisation, adversity has only sharpened our determination. In just this past month, we are humbled and proud to announce that: 🌸 PKL has been entrusted to continue supporting the NZ Pacific Language Week initiatives for 2025. 🌸 We signed on our first global funder, opening new doors for social impact. 🌸 We formalised partnerships with our first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). 🌸 Our eShop is ready for PKL merchandise. Watch this space for Term 1 school products! Vi'ia le Ali'i! We remain deeply grateful to every hand that has held us up this year - our village, partners, collaborators, and families. Together, we are building a mana-enhancing digital space for our tamaiti, one story at a time. Wishing you all a blessed Christmas season. See you in 2025! Tatiana Marich #TakingTheVillageOnline
Pacific Kids' Learning
Animation and Post-production
Enabling cultural and language immersion through impactful digital learning resources.
About us
We are creating a new landscape for education and empowerment. Our vision is simple yet transformative: to ignite young minds, foster creativity, and create a new paradigm for education that is engaging, impactful and sovereign. Pacific Kids' Learning has evolved into a shared mission to revolutionise the educational experience for children. STEAM education together with cultural empowerment are the cornerstones of this mission. Traditional learning methods often fail to capture the essence of curiosity and creativity that children inherently possess. We want to change this. We have designed an environment where children are not just passive recipients of knowledge, but active creators of their own learning journey. The Pacific Digital Library, launched in January 2024 is PKL's video streaming platform where young learners, parents and teachers can access values-driven heritage stories, songs and dances in the animation format, co-designed by the community. Teacher support resources can also be accessed via our digital library. PKL also facilitates the Young Pasifika Animators (YPA) workshops. These workshops are intentionally designed to unlock students' creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration skills. It's also a tactile exercise in which young learners utilise design-thinking to drive their own narratives. The Pacific Digital Stories (PDS) Project amplifies the stories of our young people, and elders. Animations are co-designed authentically by Pacific communities. We recognise that educators are key drivers in these programs. They equip teachers with the technical skills and tools to facilitate dynamic and engaging learning experiences that redesign every day classroom instruction. No more exhaustive lesson planning! Our range of programs will provide comprehensive support and resources, freeing educators to focus on what truly matters: inspiring young minds.

#PacificDigitalStorytelling - and here is our final animation release for 2024 cheehoo! LIVE now via The Pacific Digital Library https://lnkd.in/gX6sdrFn 🌴🏉 The Rugby Challenge: A Story of Family, Fun, and Determination 🏉🌴 Tailevai’s trip to Palauli Savai’i was more than just a holiday - it was a chance to reconnect, work hard, and play even harder. Under the hot Samoan sun, cutting grass felt endless, but teamwork and perseverance brought rewards: a thrilling family rugby match with the cuzzies! 🏃♂️🔥 Through laughter, distraction (juicy mangoes 🍋😄), and pure determination, the game became a lesson in courage and unfiltered joy. It’s a reminder that true victories aren’t just about winning, but the memories we create together. 💪✨ “Lua pati, hei hei, ho! Cheehoooo!” Tailevai Fatupaito from Onehunga Primary School, teaches us to cherish our culture, family, and every hard-earned triumph. 🌺 Fa’amālō atu also to the amazing illustrator Theodore Ah Wong for bringing Tailevai’s words to life on the screen 🙌🏽 #familyfirst @samfatupaito #samoandigitalstories #samoananimation #SavaiiStories

#PacificDigitalStorytelling Team Tokelau are in the studio! 🇹🇰 We’re so excited to be in production mode again, working away on a new collection of children’s songs and digital dances that will feature on The Pacific Digital Library in 2025! We are intentional about our Library platform expressing our stories in our traditional formats - through tusitala, tusi ‘ata, pese and siva, and including the careful transformation of these formats into the digital vā as a village, it’s a curated methodology that we’re proud of at PKL! So stay locked in, continue to pray for our village who live, breathe, eat and sleep this work! A massive fakafetai to Tokelau musician and Bilingual Educator Sulata Foa’i-Amiatu and her team for walking the journey alongside PKL - ensuring the digital vā is safe, nurturing and uplifting for our Pasifika kids 🙌🏽 #PacificDigitalDance - Round 2 is coming!🔥🔥🔥
