"In our view, the debate about the costs of [the 2023 standards] has been hampered by a reliance on anecdotes and very rough guesses about how much these regulations add to the cost of building," Malcolm Fleming, New Zealand Certified Builders chief executive

Very exciting to have another project underway on site - great to be working with Sacred Heart Girls' College Hamilton and iLine Construction on the Mahi Tahi project.
Our new building project is now well underway! Designed by PAUA Architects Ltd, this stunning space has been eagerly anticipated for quite some time. It marks a significant milestone for the College and the Mission College Hamilton Trust Board, being the most significant construction in 35 years. Named the Mahi Tahi Project, this new building will feature a modern entrance and vibrant community spaces, thoughtfully designed to foster a sense of unity, reflection, and purpose within our Kura.

"I think in a world of beige and boring and same old cookie cutter architecture, this stands out as something really special." What a great testament to the originality of our work here at PAUA Architects. Every client and every project is unique, and we like to think that this is reflected in the architecture.

PAUA has enjoyed being a part of Smart Waikato's Secondary School Employer Partnerships program for several years now, working with Sacred Heart Girls College, and this year also with Te Au o Tamatea St Andrew's Middle School. The last two weeks we've had visits from Te Au o Tamatea, who have impressed our team with the interest and enthusiasm they've brought to the activities and problem solving tasks we've run. There were some especially impressive solutions to a bridge building exercise! It's very exciting and enriching to see the Architects and Engineers of the future engaging with our team.

PAUA Director and Principal Architect Antanas Procuta was honoured this month with a life membership of the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce New Zealand. "It's been a privilege and a pleasure to support the work of the Cambridge Chamber, the business community, and those that have given thought, time, and commitment to making Cambridge a better place to live and to work. In particular, I would like to acknowledge all the Chamber CEs, their staff, the Chairs and the executive committees over the years who have similarly given so much. Cambridge is vastly the better for the effort of all these people, and the businesses that support the chamber and its work."
