Updates

  • Just a quick reminder to stay safe this summer. Your safety around electricity and water is a serious area of focus for Pioneer Energy. We are passionate about keeping our community safe. This summer when boating, swimming or kayaking on dams, make sure to keep well away from the spillway and dam structures. Potential dangers include going over the edge of the dam or being sucked into an underwater intake. Don’t forget to look up and watch out for overhead lines around boat ramps or when towing your boat on land. If a boat mast has brought down the power lines around a vehicle, the safest way to avoid electric shock is for occupants to stay in the vehicle until help arrives. We wish you a safe and happy summer ahead.

  • As we reflect on the year, we reached a significant milestone of 100 years since our first power station opening in Roxburgh. It was great to celebrate with the community and showcase how technology has changed over the last century. We want to thank the community for their support and look forward to many more years to come.

  • 🎥 Lights, camera, action at Roaring Meg! If you’ve driven through the Kawarau Gorge recently, you might have spotted a film crew at our iconic Roaring Meg Hydro Station. While the details of the shoot are top secret, we can confirm it’s for a sci-fi action thriller!   Moments like this remind us how lucky we are to call such a breathtakingly beautiful country home—and it’s a thrill to see our backyard showcased on the big screen.

💔 A Heartbreaking Loss, But Not a Complete Waste 💔   In early November, an unfortunate accident caused the freezer at Dave Letele’s South Auckland Foodbank to stop working. This devastating incident resulted in the loss of much-needed food supplies, that would have supported up to 1,000 families a week including meat during the lead-up to Christmas.   While the loss was heartbreaking, the team at Ecogas/Ecostock was able to step in and ensure that the spoiled food didn’t go to complete waste. We partnered with BBM to: ✅ Clear the affected containers ✅ Recover and recycle organic material, cardboard, and plastic ✅ Relocate, restock, and are working on repairing the forklift for the incredible BBM team   We’re proud to continue supporting BBM and their vital work, especially during a time when many families are under extra pressure with the rising cost of living and the holidays approaching.   If you’d like to join us in supporting this important cause, consider donating to the Foodbank here: https://lnkd.in/gFZKrJjW   Together, we can make a difference. 💚

🌟 Exciting Day with Pioneer Energy Renewables! 🌟 Today, we had the privilege of collaborating with the leadership team at Pioneer Energy Renewables. Together, we embarked on an asset mapping exercise that revealed the incredible wealth of tangible and intangible assets present around the table. It's truly remarkable how much knowledge, skills, networks, and resources just six individuals can bring to the table! After identifying various strategic opportunities, the team selected one key opportunity to focus on in the coming weeks. By the end of our session, each participant left with a clear action plan to walk away with, kickstarting their journey towards success #StrategicDoingNZ #Leadership #PioneerEnergy #Collaboration #AssetMapping
