👉 Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Press Release SFP, TNC, INCOPESCA, and FEDENAP recently convened a landmark workshop in Costa Rica to design more effective Electronic Monitoring (EM) programs for fisheries. By using EM technology, fishing vessels can collect vital data to enhance sustainability, traceability, and regulatory compliance. With insights from Chile, Panama, and IATTC, this collaborative effort paves the way for improved bycatch monitoring, crew welfare, and responsible fishing practices in Costa Rica’s longline fisheries. 📢 Read the full press release here: SFP and TNC Advance Electronic Monitoring for Seafood Transparency and Traceability https://lnkd.in/g7iSGAVc 🎥 Missed SFPs latest webinar - catch the recording of "Moving Electronic Monitoring Forward" here: https://lnkd.in/gnYRJGXU

Integrated Monitoring, Inc. are looking forward to bringing our real-time Bluefin 715Ai Edge Compute systems and advanced Monitor Cloud based review capabilities to support Ocean Outcomes this initiative
Our new collaboration with the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology aims to advance the development and implementation of Wireless and Remote Electronic Monitoring in Taiwan’s Tuna Longline Fishery. As part of this work, we recently helped put on a capacity building workshop focused on electronic monitoring — providing hands-on training for local fisheries observers. By implementing new monitoring solutions and enhancing local ability to manage these systems, we are supporting Taiwan in improving compliance with international standards, better protecting marine ecosystems, and ultimately helping to ensure the long-term viability of its fishing industry.

🌍 Partnerships are key to protecting the vital marine resources of West Africa. Starting today, Ministers and Directors of Fisheries from the six Member States that make up the Fisheries Committee for the West Central Gulf of Guinea (FCWC/CPCO) States (Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, and Togo), will meet in Monrovia, Liberia. TMT continues to work side by side with FCWC, providing technical assistance, supporting capacity building and forging and maintaining long-standing partnerships in the region to improve fisheries management and reduce illegal fishing. Ending Illegal fishing requires a long view to ensuring cooperation and sustainability of the region's fisheries. Two technical days and a Ministerial session, hosted by President of Liberia, Joseph Nyuma Boakai, will review a concrete workplan for the coming year and deliver the Monrovia Declaration for action on fisheries management measures, particularly closed fishery seasons and the development of a Regional Record of Authorised Fishing Vessels to support the vital work of the Regional Monitoring Control and Surveillance Centre. 🐟 TMT, together with Stop Illegal Fishing and through financial support from Norway, will continue to ensure the FCWC and other regional fishery management bodies across Africa have the capacity to protect their fishery resources through regional cooperation initiatives such as the Regional Record and ensure Africa has a vibrant and just blue economy now and into the future.
