  • On the charitable side of the table, we also have some very cool news about our latest donation from the Simplicity Foundation, which has formed a long-term strategic partnership with One Percent Collective. One Percent Collective is a unique platform that encourages and facilitates regular charitable giving from income. Members of the collective pledge 1% of income to charity, distributed to approved charities via the organisation. With 700 members, it's donated more than $4.6 million to 15 Kiwi-based charities %) Since its inception in 2016, Simplicity's Foundation has donated more than $9.2 million to charity. The Collective will now be fully funded by the Simplicity Foundation which will amplify charitable giving in Aotearoa. It's a win-win. We are proud that our local trustee Frances Arns will become a chair on the Collective's board. #charitablegiving #KiwiSaver #socialimpact #giving

  • Congrats to DataTorque Ltd on its latest $11 m capital raise, of which Simplicity was a contributor. Not an easy feat in today's climate! DataTorque Ltd is one of several private capital investments held by Simplicity NZ Ltd. Matthew Houtman, Head of Private Capital for Simplicity, says the tax collection specialist is an attractive investment for three key reasons: ✅ Long-term and very sticky customers ~ "It’s hard to rip out a nations tax system." ✅ Great competitive positioning within their target market ~ "Really good product-market fit. " ✅ Awesome purpose for developing nation customers ~ "If a country doesn’t have a universal taxation system, it is very hard to develop the economy (and hard to get donor dollars). "   Keen to learn more about Simplicity's Private Equity investments? Check out Matt's scintillating interview with Liv Lewis-Long on Spotify, or your favourite podcast platform. ⬇  https://lnkd.in/gFMVvmad
