We’ve come to the end of a remarkable journey at #ThePoint2024 in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, with an insightful and inspiring second day of our premier payments conference for Aotearoa.   We led off with a fireside chat examining the impact of generative AI on financial services and everyday life, brought to us by our conference principal sponsor FIS.   Minister Hon Andrew Bayly delivered an address outlining his vision of the future of payments systems in Aotearoa, including his goals for the Customer and Product Data Bill in facilitating secure and efficient data services.   We expanded on Day One’s focus on the big picture, with Tim Groser addressing the conference on our economic and trade context, followed by a panel taking a closer look at macroeconomic headwinds, effective market strategies, and Māori economic development and indigenous trade policies.   From there we took deep dive into the future of payments, digital innovation and partnerships, and into central bank digital currencies and cryptocurrency as part of the wider future of money.   In the afternoon we looked at the potential of open banking in our second Open Banking Showcase of 2024, with international perspectives, demonstrations and dialogue on how open banking might unlock social as well as economic outcomes.   The focus on fintech innovation continued with banking and fintech leader Nektarios Liolios sharing insights on strategic innovation between corporates and startups and how large organisations can be “startup ready”.   Finally, our own Steve Wiggins brought the threads of the last two days together with his reflections on our time together and what it shows us about the path forward for the Aotearoa payments ecosystem as we continue to navigate beyond and seek new horizons.   We look forward to continuing our conversations and building on the relationships grown at The Point 2024. The road to #ThePoint2026 starts here!   A huge thank you to principal sponsor FIS along with our other sponsors who made The Point 2024 possible: https://lnkd.in/gBVJzWRH   #ThePoint2024 #NavigatingBeyond #PaymentsNZ #FuturePayments FIS, Worldline, Swift, Mastercard, Visa, ACI Worldwide, Buddle Findlay, PAYMTS Limited / Open Payments Limited (New Zealand), Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Hudson Gavin Martin, Middleware New Zealand, Skyzer NZ, Tranxactor, Yuno

  • This week we are celebrating Living Wage Week with Living Wage Aotearoa New Zealand ✨ Skyzer is proud to be part of the movement for fair and ethical pay practices as a Living Wage Aotearoa Employer. Last night, some of our team had the honour of joining Living Wage Aotearoa for their 10th anniversary celebration, recognising a decade of progress toward fair wages for all New Zealanders. In 2014, "Living Wage Employer" was a new concept, but today it's become a standard for responsible business. We're thrilled to stand alongside more than 380 employers across a diverse range of industries who have joined this mission. To us, being a Living Wage Employer isn’t just a label - it’s a commitment to our team and community, helping us build a stronger, more supportive workplace. Cheers to ten years of Living Wage, and here’s to many more!
