  • Celia from Te Warewhare is often greeting our customers with 'Mōrena' and leaving them with 'Kia pai to rā' (Have a good day). She felt Te Wiki was really special, especially having customers greet back in te reo Māori. 🙌 With the rapid sell-out of kākahu, Celia also took initiative to showcase more Māori items, including a beautiful Māori Book Display at the checkouts. Efforts like this help create safe spaces for te reo – be like Celia! 🤗✨ #ReoMāori #AkeAkeAke The Warehouse

  • Communities connecting through te reo. 🤝 Ngā mihi nui to Te Tūhunga Rau Kōrero Mai Rōpū for sharing their celebration of Wiki o Te Reo Māori with us! They held a shared lunch at Te Tūhunga Rau filled with kōrero, laughter, waiata, and kai. 🤗 Their rōpū meets weekly to speak Māori, share in mihimihi and find hōnonga/connection with each other through waiata and karakia. Finding a space and community where you can connect with others on your reo journey is really valuable. Share in the comments – do you have your own community or hoa you connect with regularly? #ReoMāori #AkeAkeAke Wellington City Council

This symposium will be back again in 2024, over the 5th and 6th of November at Tākina in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. In-person and online tickets available, have you got yours yet? https://lnkd.in/g2ztGpB8
