Key updates included converting bathrooms into private changing room facilities, exposed ceilings with minimalist linear lighting and earthy tones for a fresh aesthetic. The layout features open spaces with state-of-the-art equipment, catering to both individual and group workouts. Terra Consultants, at the request of our clients, provided professional architectural design services for the interior fitout of the new “Flex Fitness Oaks,” situated in Mangere. We were tasked with transforming an existing gym into a modern gym space. Our objective was to upgrade the building to the standards set by the Flex Fitness franchise. This involved not only meeting the accessibility and fire safety codes but also infusing the space with a fresh design aesthetic that aligns with the brand’s high-end image. Key elements of the refurbishment include converting existing bathrooms and changing rooms into ensuite facilities, as well as implementing exposed ceilings throughout the gym, all aimed at enhancing its overall appeal. The interior features sleek, minimalist linear lighting and an earthy color palette, creating a tranquil yet energizing environment. State-of-the-art fitness equipment is thoughtfully arranged in open spaces, allowing for both individual workouts and group classes. Each zone, from high-intensity training areas to serene yoga studios, is designed to inspire movement and mindfulness. Shilaj is adept at due diligence, stragegic planning, and design implementation for civil infrastructure. He is proficient in civil3D, knowledgeable about building codes and regulations and demonstrates stong leadership, communication, and project management skils with a provent track record of delivering high quality and cost effective solutions. Meet Callum Callum is a Survey Technician with over 10 years of experience in the Land Development, Construction, and Land Information sectors. Throughout New Zealand, he has contributed to a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial projects, playing a vital role within our team. Callum’s responsibilities encompass as-built surveys, topographical surveys, setting out, trials, establishing new boundaries, and general land surveying. In addition to his fieldwork, he collaborates with our Civil Design Team on office-based tasks, assisting with the creation and editing of engineering designs and models. His expertise covers multiple aspects of the Land Development process, including site feasibility studies, subdivision scheme design, Resource Consent preparation, engineering design, construction set-out, deformation monitoring, and Land Transfer surveying. Meet Dimitar Dimitar is a Senior Architectural Designer with 8 years of professional experience, proficient in using the industry-leading CAD and BIM software. He has been involved in a wide scope of projects including small to large scale residential developments, apartment buildings, office towers, Auckland airport and industrial buildings. Dimitar is fully engaged in his projects with complete understanding of all aspects of the process from the initial engagement with the client, to the documentation, the consenting process, the site observation of the construction works and the final close out. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for design, he brings both creativity and precision to every project he takes on. When Dimitar isn't busy lending his building expertise to our clients, he enjoys being a sailor and a boatbuilder. He is practices in the craft of maintaining and racing his wooden heritage yacht, which can be seen regularly racing in the Hauraki Gulf. Meet Frank from Terra Frank is a senior structural engineer with over 20 years of experience in designing concrete, steel, and timber structures (including CLT), as well as conducting structural seismic performance assessments. His work spans residential, commercial, and industrial projects across both Malaysia and New Zealand. Known for his meticulous attention to detail while maintaining a focus on the big picture, Frank delivers solutions that balance precision with broader project goals. He has extensive experience with complex structural analysis methods, including time history and performance-based design, he is also well-versed in forensic engineering, seismic assessments (IEP and DSA), and seismic restraint design.
