Some of us are already heading away to our favourite holiday spot, or logging off to enjoy the sunshine with whānau. But for those who are doing it tough, that's where One Mother to Another NZ comes in. Through Craigs Investment Partners' workplace giving programme, they've chosen to support this incredible charity through the Christchurch Foundation - these funds will provide care packages for whānau spending their holiday season in hospital with newborns in NICU or children in the paediatric ward ❤️ The photos are of the Christchurch team volunteering earlier in December to make up the care packages being delivered over the summer break. Craigs Workplace Giving allows employees to donate a portion of their monthly paycheque to support charities in their local community. Craigs matches these donations, up to $500 per employee per year. Now in its sixth year, Craigs Workplace Giving has collectively donated $944,000 to charities nationwide. #CommunitySupport #Healthcare #ChristchurchCares #CommunityFoundations #Giving #ChristmasGenerosity

The Christchurch Foundation exists to help create a better city for the residents of Greater Ōtautahi Christchurch.
About us
The Christchurch Foundation helps create, support and build the foundations for a better Ōtautahi Christchurch, and the surrounding Selwyn and Waimakariri Districts. Community (City) Foundations are relatively common-place around the world and many other regions in New Zealand have recognised the need for a “place-based” charitable organisation to enable donors to give directly to their city or region. The Christchurch Foundation actively collects, manages and distributes funds for community projects, charities, causes and not-for-profits (both large and small) in delivering the important work that they provide. A wide range of giving programmes is available to enable contributions to the long-term good of communities, such as bequests, endowments, diaspora or expat giving and corporate partner programmes. Donors’ contributions can be ‘ tagged’ to a sector (e.g. recreation and sport community projects), community within the geographic area (e.g. Opawa) or to a range of charities. Contributions could also be ‘ untagged’ and spent at the discretion of the Foundation Trustees under a developed set of policies. The Foundation will always ensure donor wishes are met.

Through Craigs Investment Partners workplace giving programme, the Christchurch Foundation is proud to support Tamai Sports to help remove barriers to sports participation for tamariki in Christchurch East. This funding will provide transport, uniforms, equipment and access to positive coaching mentors. Sport has the power to transform young lives, and we're grateful to partner with Craigs Investment Partners to make it more accessible. #MondayMotivation #Sport #CommunityImpact #CommunityFoundations #Giving #ChristmasGenerosity

Community is where it's at ... 🌳 ☀️ 🌿 👨👩👧👦 🏡 "It’s true that shifts in community outcomes most effectively come about from local community action. There is immense power that comes from the energy that resonates from community philanthropy – from the people who care and know their communities, working together to build the future. ... often this involves a shift in perspectives as people draw closer to communities, understanding more deeply local needs and aspirations, who is doing great work and investing wholeheartedly in community champions. ... forms of more participatory philanthropy, which involve community and share decision making power ... are steadily growing across the country, shifting away from the top-down approach of clichéd big philanthropy, towards being much more community and human-centric." #LetsTalk
"In the community foundations world, we help local people discover how they can most effectively contribute to building and strengthening their local community. What we find – and it really is incredible to witness - is that local giving can be very empowering, for both the givers and for their local community. And that this doesn’t necessarily involve big money, at all". In our latest blog post Eleanor Cater writes about the energy and empowerment that resonates from community philanthropy. Meri Kirihimete Aotearoa NZ, ngā mihi nui to all the givers and community champions who work with us through the 18 community foundations across the country, together we are building stronger and more cohesive communities. #philanthropy #communityfoundations #giving Philanthropy New Zealand, Lani Evans MNZM https://lnkd.in/gW4Q-bTR

While school has wrapped this week for most tamariki, there are incredible community organisations who are already planning for the 2025 school year. Education is key to breaking cycles of disadvantage, so we're proud to have directed funds this Christmas to Christchurch Aunties through Craigs Investment Partners workplace giving programme. This funding will support the Aunties' Back-to-School Campaign, helping local families manage the significant costs of starting a new school year. It was a pleasure to support this workplace giving as our region's local community foundation. #EducationAccess #CommunitySupport #ChristchurchCommunity #CommunityFoundations #Giving #ChristmasGenerosity
