🚒 Supporting Our Community’s Heroes!  At Trust Horizon, we’re incredibly proud to have supported the Edgecumbe Volunteer Fire Brigade for over 15 years. Through our grants, we’ve helped the brigade focus on their vital work without the added strain of fundraising.  The dedication of the Edgecumbe Fire Brigade is unmatched. During the 2017 floods, their station became a lifeline—hosting police, the army, St. John’s, and even providing meals for over 150 people daily. Their ability to step up in times of crisis inspires us to continue empowering them with the resources they need.  It’s a privilege to work alongside such a passionate and driven team, helping them make a positive impact and serve even bigger. 🌿 Protecting Native Wildlife, One Trap at a Time! 🌿 We’re proud to support two incredible conservation organisations—Ōhiwa Headland Sanctuary Trust and Whakatāne Kiwi Trust—through grants totalling over $95,000! 🌟Empowering Change Through Community Support 🌟 With the help of a $3,000 grant from Trust Horizon, EBOP Riding for the Disabled has achieved a milestone: powering its new wheelchair-accessible ablution block!  This much-needed facility is a game-changer, supporting whānau with higher needs while meeting the national standards of Riding for the Disabled. For over 52 years, EBOP RDA has been a beacon of therapeutic riding, helping individuals aged 5 to 60+ build confidence and enjoy the social connection of weekly sessions. Volunteers play a crucial role, making a difference for over 30 riders each week! We are proud to take the reins in supporting this wonderful community who come to support the club. We are thrilled that a $19,445 grant from Trust Horizon will provide the funding needed for a brand-new audio-visual upgrade for Allandale Primary School’s community hall. This space is a vital hub for students, teachers, and the wider community. The improvements will enhance its functionality and create a better environment for learning and community events, and will also expand further into the performing arts 🙌✨ The funding will enable the school to continue to adapt, evolve, and keep pace with the latest technology. Kawerau is making waves in climate action! 🌍 Trust Horizon is always looking at how we can support green initiatives across the Eastern Bay.  After four years of extensive groundwork, a collaborative effort, and an innovative approach from several leading charitable organisations and a social enterprise, Kawerau is set to become the home of New Zealand’s first refrigerant destruction facility. The new Kawerau facility uses state-of-the-art Plasma Arc technology to safely and sustainably destroy synthetic refrigerants that harm the atmosphere.    It will play a key role in meeting Cool-Safe’s ambitious target of supporting the refrigerants industry in reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 90% by 2035 through the Trust for the Destruction of Synthetic Refrigerants.
