Our Moa Creek site is our first large-scale solar site and was the first of many sites of this scale and larger. Sites like this are a crucial part of Unifone's rural broadband network with sufficient power for high-capacity linking to downstream and upstream sites. Solar power is necessary on extremely remote sites like Moa Creek but does tend to limit the equipment types we can add to them. Like all New Zealand WISPs, we are making increased use of mains power where it's available, and sites like this elsewhere in the network are mains and fibre fed. Leveraging the experience and knowledge of our team including our 37-year telecommunications veteran Glenn Hutton (director) has resulted in Unifone sites like Moa Creek being built to carrier-grade standard.

Proud to support the Otago Esports brawl! 🧑🏼💻👩🏼💻
Otago Esports Brawl over 50 students enjoying each others company and competing for our sword trophy. None of this was possible with out Unifone New Zealand Ltd our major sponsors who were in charge of our connectivity. Many of our participants had never experienced the stable internet. Otago Polytechnic | Te Pūkenga were also major sponsors and provided fantastic merchandise and also supported the students to see the real pathways into tertiary education. One New Zealand also supporting the kaupapa. Your Corps Multiplayer Gaming supplied the hardware and staffing a company that is a proud Youth Employer. Our other sponsors included PocketSmith, Dr Zarabi Urology, Objective Solutions and Cello technology hub. This event now has students who have been at it all 4 years and the feedback is amazing from the kids. It is official Brawl 4 is on Dunedin's premier gaming tournament. None of this could happen with out the support of Unifone New Zealand Ltd and the Otago Polytechnic | Te Pūkenga our Gold Sponsors two of our teams will proudly represent these businesses as they compete for high School glory. I would also like to PocketSmith, Cello Technology Ltd and Amir Zarrabi urology for their support in delivering this event. It was touch and go to deliver this event for our rangatahi and luckily the short fall in funding has been covered. The only issue now is having to let down the countless other teams that will miss out. In my my weekly competition I have 20 teams regularly playing at school in warm safe environments that allow in person gaming. This has been entirely engineered by my work through Tātai Aho Rau Core Education several years ago on "Transcending the Gender Gap in eSports". This event is featuring Valorant for the second time my dream is run an event alongside a technology festival allowing our rangatahi to explore Coding, Robotics and Game development.
