VTS has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build Diverge, a next-generation energy data platform that transforms data into actionable insights. Diverge was designed to meet the challenges of the energy transition and helps utilities like Vector Limited to operationalise energy data innovation. It also helps Vector to support organisations like Auckland Transport to achieve their decarbonisation goals. #WATCH this video to see how Diverge enabled the New Lynn electric bus depot, using existing assets and ‘dynamic operating envelopes’ that vary load limits in response to changing network conditions. It does so without adversely impacting others on the network and avoids or delays the need for costly network upgrades.

We're very proud of the growth trajectory of our cyber security business, which provides services to electricity distribution businesses all over New Zealand. It's now operating under its own name, Equalise Cyber Security Ltd. Follow their new company page to follow their journey!
We’ve made some changes and are proud to officially launch Equalise Cyber Security! We are now operating as a separate entity in the Vector Limited group, independent from Vector Technology Solutions Ltd (VTS). For background, previously VTS had two distinct service portfolios – Equalise, its cyber security business and Diverge, a next-generation energy data platform. To enable Equalise and Diverge to focus and deliver their respective solutions we have separated Equalise into Equalise Cyber Security Limited. This transition allows us to enhance our capabilities and services to better serve our customers. As Equalise Cyber Security, our commitment to providing the highest quality cyber security services and support remains unchanged. All services, customer support, personnel will continue without any interruption or change. We’re excited about a bright future ahead. Follow us for more exciting updates!

💡 Our Chief Information Security Officer Aaron McKeown recently shared his thoughts on identity management at a panel discussion at the recent Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Day Auckland, along with Jerry Li and Okta's Matt Porta. Click though to read some of his key insights.

👏 It was great to see Aaron McKeown sharing the stage at the the recent Cyber Resilience Summit NZ 2024, which brought together senior security leaders from New Zealand’s leading organisations for a strategic discussion on the state of cyber security and resilience in Aotearoa. Along with panelists: Richard H., Ivan R. and Nick Frantzen, Aaron addressed the topic of “Aligning business priorities and board expectations with security realities.” In today’s landscape of cyber threats, businesses face an array of vulnerabilities and cyber criminals. While cybersecurity leaders work to protect the integrity of their organisation, they must also be mindful of governance and keep board members informed and engaged. Resilience is about more than just reacting to events. When something truly unforeseen occurs there is a very real need for an environment in which leadership, governance, and operations can work together quickly and seamlessly. The panel discussed practical things cyber security officers can do to embed resilience into leadership in the face of a novel event. #cybersecurity #cyberresilience #governance Forefront Events

💡 Smart meter data offers a treasure trove of information that can help us address multiple issues facing the electricity distribution sector. Here’s a handy breakdown of three key challenges our Diverge GM, Dean Van Gerrevink, shared recently at GridTECH Connect Forum in Orlando. These formed part of the presentation “How to unlock the value of smart meter data in the cloud” by Dean, Timothy Stafford of Slalom, and Mark Hunter of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
