Our Vega team teamed up with the North Harbour NPC rugby team to cook for 120 families at Ronald McDonald house in Auckland this evening. Vega is delighted to welcome 5 deserving families to the Marlborough Sustainable Housing Trust’s latest acquisition of 5 x 4 bedroom houses in High Street, Blenheim. As Affordable Rentals the rent is capped at 80% of market rent.    The Trust approached Vega to help them source a development with specific requirements in order to secure funding under Government’s constable Affordable Housing fund. Working through Bayleys Real Estate, Vega identified local developer RLA Construction who had a suitable shovel ready project, assisted the Trust in securing the Government funding as well as philanthropic funding from the Rata Foundation to complete the acquisition without the need for the Trust to use its equity.   This is the second occasion Vega has had the privilege of working alongside this worthy entity, which operates entirely on an entirely volunteer basis. As a father myself, I can’t imagine how difficult this is for Kevin, Vanessa and Lauren’s siblings, yet Kevin shows up to work every day with a smile and a positive can-do attitude.
