📢 Exciting News from Woolchemy 📢 At Woolchemy, we prioritize exceptional performance. That’s why we’re thrilled to share the release of our latest whitepaper, showcasing the science behind our wool-based Acquisition Distribution Layer (ADL) for diapers, femcare and incontinence products. Here’s what’s inside: 🔬 Science in Action: A detailed exploration of wool’s natural properties, including odor control and thermal regulation, and how we’ve engineered these into a high-performing material tailored for the $126B hygiene market. 📊 Transparent Insights: Evidence-based findings that highlight how neweFlex can rival and surpass synthetic materials in demanding applications. 🐑 Nature Meets Performance: A look at how our ADL not only elevates product functionality but also aligns with consumer values for sustainable, plastic-free solutions. Currently, only 7% of materials in the hygiene sector are derived from non-petrochemical sources. Woolchemy’s innovation is changing that, providing a powerful alternative rooted in both science and nature. This whitepaper represents our vision for a future where high performance, ethical practices, and sustainability go hand-in-hand. We invite you to read more and join us in reimagining what’s possible for people and the planet: https://lnkd.in/gTNiDS-A #ScienceDriven #NatureBasedPerformance #Sustainability #Woolchemy

We need to look after newborn parents and the baby also. The element in common is improving our sleep quantity and quality! A study estimated that women with postpartum depressive symptoms sleep about 80 minutes less per night than women who are not depressed. (https://lnkd.in/dS5Hy9Q) What if we could improve the sleep of babies through the diapers they wear? Diapers with microclimate sensitivity that regulate the infant's temperature so they have less chance of waking up. At Woolchemy we think we have something incredibly powerful to offer through our ground-breaking technology. We will be releasing a whitepaper shortly show the incredible benefits of wool in hygiene products that is ground-breaking! Coming soon.... #sleep #wool #health #diapers #sustainablenonwovens #thermalcontrol

We need to look after newborn parents. Launching in recognition of the UN Global Day of Parents, Gidget Foundation Australia’s NEW brand awareness campaign, "Gidget is here for you", is now LIVE. This campaign strives to underscore the need for broader community support for newborn parents, who require as much care and attention as their babies during this sometimes overwhelming transition. Every year in Australia, 100,000 expectant and new parents are impacted by perinatal depression and anxiety - that’s 1 in 5 mothers and 1 in 10 fathers. Tragically, maternal suicide is a leading cause of death amongst expectant and new mothers. Despite these confronting statistics, there's still a stigma attached to admitting one's struggles, as the early years of parenthood are often idealised as a period of pure joy. Enormous thanks to WPP and Ogilvy for this incredible work. I’d especially like to thank WPP’s President ANZ Rose Herceg and Chief Strategy Officer Katie Rigg-Smith and the outstanding Ogilvy ECDs Kristal Knight (NZ) and Hilary Badger (MEL). Well done to Alicia Yelavich who drove this amazing campaign internally! 🙌👏🙌👏 For services available, visit gidgetfoundation.org.au

In single use applications like hygiene nonwovens, microplastics are not often discussed, companies would rather sweep microplastucs under the rug. We don't pull the wool over your eyes. #sustainable #wool #nonwovens #hygiene #femcare #diapers
We recently published research relating to the marine biodegradability of wool fibres and textiles (https://lnkd.in/gjKiR3XZ). The key message to take away from this is that commercially processed wool fibres readily biodegrade in the marine environment, and that wool does not produce microplastic pollution. You may be thinking “well, duh, of course” (sometimes scientists are accused of finding out stuff that people already ‘know’ but it’s usually a bit more complicated than that…). As it happens there’s not a lot of rigorous research in this space, especially related to wool fibres from textiles that have been modified during finishing in ways that could influence their biodegradability. It’s easy to forget that the wool that makes it into your high-performance base-layer garment is not just the same as when it came off the sheep! Among other things, we were pleasantly surprised to find that fibre from commercial wool fabric modified by the most common shrink-resist treatment to make it machine washable actually biodegraded more rapidly than untreated wool. So, go ahead and wash your wool socks and clothes guilt free… but of course thanks to their odour resistance you hardly ever need to wash them anyway, right? (and that’s another story) [thanks to Australian Wool Innovation who funded this research]
