We are seeking a Tax Lawyer to join PwC Legal in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland or Pōneke / Wellington. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your tax legal expertise in a setting beyond the traditional law firm environment. You will engage in high-calibre advisory work both locally and internationally. This role offers the chance to collaborate with all facets of the Financial Advisory Services practice, providing a rare insight into client issues. You'll also have the opportunity to work alongside experts from various service lines, enriching your professional experience across multiple fields.
Within this team, your day to day responsibilities could include:
- Navigating and resolving tax audits and disputes with tax authorities.
- Obtaining certainty for clients through binding rulings.
- Collaborating with various teams to provide comprehensive tax solutions for our clients.
- Proactively identifying and addressing potential tax risks, including in connection with high-profile transactions.
- Staying ahead of the curve with the latest tax law developments.
- Helping our clients to ensure they stay compliant with tax laws and avoid any legal pitfalls.
- Spotting opportunities to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
- Maintaining the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality.
- 5-7 years PQE in a recognised New Zealand law firm and/or in-house
- Extensive experience in tax law
- Strong commercial acumen and technical knowledge
- Ability to deliver high-quality, commercially-minded legal advice
- Law degree
- Driven and enthusiastic with excellent client-facing skills
