Tap Mun, Hong Kong's Chillest Outlying Island.

🗓️Itinerary: ① Exit B of University Station, walk for 10 minutes. There are signs along the way, or you can use navigation. It takes about 1.5 hours from Ma Liu Shui to Tap Mun. ② Tap Mun consists of two small villages. There are restaurants and convenience stores here. The main photo spots are the Sea Viewing Pavilion and the stacked stones. Both Tin Hau Temple and the Fishermen's New Village can be reached. ③ There are many cows around the Sea Viewing Pavilion, usually coming out to graze in the afternoon. The view for photos here is better. ④ Across the sea is Shenzhen's Dapeng Peninsula. With a telephoto lens, you can even see Nan'ao. Nearby is Sai Kung, with the distinctive Sharp Peak. Besides cows, wild boars also frequently appear here. Be especially careful not to disturb them. G down the stacked stones leads to a seaside boardwalk, which is also very photogenic. The nearby small beach is good for snorkeling. Travel Tips!! ① Ferry Schedule Ma Liu Shui Pier ~ Tap Mun Island Monday to Friday: 8:30, 15:30 Weekends and public holidays: 8:30, 12:30, 15:30 Tap Mun Island ~ Ma Liu Shui Pier Monday to Friday: 11:10, 17:30 Weekends and public holidays: 11:10, 13:45, 17:30 ② The return ferry to Ma Liu Shui is on a stop-and-go basis. Be sure to keep track of the time, or you'll have to detour back to Wong Shek Pier. ③ The UV rays by the sea are particularly strong. I got sunburned on my way back, so be sure to use sunscreen. ④ There is drinking water available at the WC near the Tap Mun Pier, so don't worry about the cost of water.
