Jinshanling in winter, ancient charm under the warm sun

In the depths of winter, I traveled to the Jinshanling Great Wall, hoping to see a silver-white feast, but was greeted by the magnificent snowless scenery under the blue sky. In the early morning, the sunlight gilded the Great Wall, and the bricks and stones were mottled after years of weathering. As I climbed the steps, the cold wind blew on my face, and the crenels stretched and meandered like a giant dragon lying across the mountains. The watchtowers stood solemnly, and although they were not decorated with snow, they were simple and majestic. Looking into the distance from the hollow tower, the mountains were layered, and the dry branches outlined cold lines, which complemented the heaviness of the Great Wall. In the afternoon, I strolled along the wall, where light and shadow intertwined. Touching the cold wall, I seemed to feel the smoke of war in the past. The surrounding mountains and forests were silent, and the occasional cawing of crows added to the emptiness. The beacon tower stood alone on the peak, and when I climbed to the top and looked down, the momentum of "one man guards the pass, ten thousand men cannot open it" came to me. The withered grass swayed between the bricks and stones, witnessing the change of seasons. In the evening, the afterglow dyed the Great Wall orange-red, and its outline became clearer. I returned with awe for history. The snowless deep winter of the Jinshanling Great Wall, with its vigorous and plain appearance, gave me a shocking time travel. Among these ancient bricks and stones, the stories of time never end.
